Dh is on a kick about getting a keurig coffee maker. He likes flavored teas. Are these machine worth it???? I know some are priced at over $200.

Tell me your thoughts on these if you own one. Whats the difference in all the machines..why is one better than the other? To me the machines look the same except for size and price-lol!

Which is a good one and what should i be looking for when if i buy one. Dh has a 30% off coupon at kohl's

Best.Purchase.Ever. I think they have different capacities of how much water they hold. I was originally going to get one that was <$100, the cashier said you'd have to refill the water chamber every time you made a cup and wait for it to heat, the one I got was about $135 (might have been on sale) and it has been suffice for a family of 4.

We use ours for so much more then coffee! I love tea, DH drinks coffee (but doesn't need a full pot), DD uses the water for her oatmeal at breakfast.

The water heats quickly yet doesn't "boil" so it's perfect for making tea from loose leaf tea as well. I do buy K-cups that are tea though. Don't waste your money on the hot cocoa though, it's much better to by your favorite hot cocoa and just put it in the hot water.

Be sure to get one with a water reservoir though, you don't want to be refilling it after each cup!

I checked costco online. It shows Keurig® B70 Platinum Coffee Brewer for $159. There were several negative reviews that i only read up to page 4.Many thought it was expensive to keep up and many had issues or broke.

I wonder if it was just a bad batch or if they fixed the issues with this B70

I just got mine yesterday. I have wanted one for a couple of years now, and we are not even coffee drinkers.

Is it worth it? Well, strictly from a monetary view, not really. You can buy even more expensive brands of coffee and teas at a much smaller price per serving than Kcups. There are other benefits though as previous posters have states.

I watched the prices for a long time and found that the prices for the machine were about the same everywhere. I kept hoping to find one on the discount table at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

We ended up buying ours using my DHs reward points from United Airlines. After our first and last flight after the merger we are not going to be flying United any time soon.

Yes, you can buy the kcups at Sam's, and lots of other stores, but not all favors are carried at all stores.

I purchased mine earlier this year & I love it!! I rarely stop at WaWa or Starbucks these days. I always buy k-cups when they are on sale; I don't like the huge one flavor boxes Sam's Club sells. I have the B-60 and I purchased it at Sam's for $129 and it came with an extra filter and some other things as well as 2 or 3 boxes of k-cups in difft blends!

It heats up water quickly so we use it for that often now too. Plus it's great for everyone to get exactly what they want, be it coffee, hot chocolate or tea in a manner of minutes. OP, the water in mine heats so fast that I do not even realize it has finished, however we don't need to do that after every cup.

I got myB60 on the newegg website during a Thanksgiving Black Friday deal. If you can hold off till then, it probably will be the best time for deals.

For pricing, you really have to consider the cost of the k cups. If you drink more than a cup a day, a 18 pack kcup box goes fast. If you aren't picky about how your coffee tastes, a 4 cup Mr. Coffee is cheaper over the long (and short) run. Although the Mr. Coffee does take longer to brew (but makes a bigger cup of coffee). I set up my Mr. Coffee the night before so I only have to hit brew in the morning.

I wasn't sure I'd use one but received it as a Christmas gift from my Mom and I LOVE it!! I use it everyday. She ordered it off of QVC, it is the Keurig Platinum Series Quiet Brewer w/48 k-cups and a my k-cup filter so you can use you own coffee if you have a favorite brand not sold in kcups. It was $176 plus s&h.

Our Keurig is about four years old and it still works perfectly, even with multiple daily uses. :thumbsup2

I personally tend to like a lot of seasonal coffee flavors, like pumpkin and coconut. Our local Sam's club usually gets giant 80-count boxes of these flavors and sells them for about $45 when they're in-season, but when they're OUT of season they usually wind up discounted to about $23, which is a GREAT deal. Every January I manage to pick up three or four boxes of pumpkin spice (my favorite), which is enough to last me at least 7 months!

Have the model with the BIG reservoir! Love it! DH drinks decaf and I drink several cups of regular a day. What has kept it affordable is the refillable KCup. I still purchase some the the seasonal favors and teas. DH likes hot cocoa in the colder months, too.

We've had ours for over3 years. I bought DSIL one for Xmas before I bought mine and he uses his every morning, too, and likes it!

We've had ours for 5 years and LOVE IT! We got rid of the regular coffee pot. Make sure you get the refillable filter. This way you can use it with regular ground coffee. I am very into my ice coffee setting lately :)

I got one in January from Costco. I like it much more than I thought I would even though I am not sure about the "budget" part of the K-cups.

I was really disappointed in how bad the MyKcup worked though as it leaks and makes coffee sludge. (That is the additional cup that supposedly you could put your own coffee in. NOT! )

The K-cups taste is not bad and it is great for not wasting a whole pot of coffee.

Also I make the BEST iced coffees with this machine. I have that down to a science!

I am also a tea drinker but I think the tea and hot water still have a "coffee" taste...but I am the only one who thinks that!:rolleyes1

Got the Big One from BJ's a few years ago. LOVE IT! Cannot live without it.
Trying to figure out how to bring it with me to WDW in October!

Also make english breakfast tea with it- tastes good to me

We got a crazy good black friday deal from QVC last year. It's the platinum plus (which wasn't available in stores, yet) and it came with 62 k-cups! Love, love, love this thing. Ours came with my k-cup which was getting terrible reviews, so we didn't open it and sold it on ebay. We use an ekobrew cup when we want to use regular coffee. It works great. They sell it on amazon.com, but we found them at our local grocery store.

No, particularly not since you are thinking of using it for tea.

Make sure the cups you are interested in are a) available and b) affordable - k-cups get pricey fast and will make the investment in the machine itself look like peanuts if you drink a lot of coffee (or tea). For tea in particular, you are far better off with a tea kettle and a tea pot (I like Harney and Sons as a supplier of all things tea - although the kettle we got at Target). You can get a filter for the Keurig (that is one of the price difference in models, some come with the filter) to use your own, but I don't think that brews good tea as tea needs to steep - not brew like coffee does.

They are nice for a coffee household where $.40-$.60 for a cup of coffee isn't a big deal and everyone likes a different roast. Or if you live alone and drink coffee.

We bought ours over 5 years ago and if my house was burning down I would grab my wedding album and my Keurig :rotfl2:

Got it at BB&B with a coupon. It's now DH & I and we each have one cup of coffee/day. If I made a pot I was throwing most of it away, and we were so tired of instant. Now we each have what ever we like, and there is absolutely no mess. LOVE THAT!

When and if you buy your machine don't forget to register it as there is an offer for free Kcups. (I think it's 2 boxes). Also, you have to shop around for the best deals. Costco is a good deal for the 80ct., but then you're stuck with the same flavor. I've been trying to keep it under 60cents per cup.
Just ordered from www.onecupconnection with free shipping over $65.

Also...some people have issues with the water not dispensing after a period of time. You have to descale the machine every 6-8 months. This takes some time, but no biggie. Sometimes too a coffee ground will clog the needle so cleaning that with a pin will dislodge the culprit.

Hope you enjoy your Keurig as much as I love mine.

I love mine, we got it at Kohl's on sale with 30% off and $10 Kohl's cash back. We then got one for my mom at Sam's for $129 including the K-cup and lots of coffee, we returned it since she insisted she would never use it. I LOVE it and use the K-cup with my own coffee which I grind, it seems to do better with a thicker grind.
My new favorite drink is the Brew Over Ice Southern Sweet Tea, it is SOOOO good. I am descaling mine as we type!

We have one and love it, but DW and I are huge coffee drinkers! I have thought about buying tea for it, but when you look at the prices, tea is way too expensive. You can get the cups anywhere from $.50 - $1 per cup. For coffee, that's not so bad, but for tea that is way too expensive considering you can buy a box of 20 tea bags for around $5.

We do use the machine for heating water though when making tea.

I got one at Kohls a few months ago, it was on sale for about 100, and I used a 30% off coupon.

As far as buying K Cups, I seem to be getting them at Bed Bath and Beyond with the 20% off coupon, or just pay full price off the shelf at like Walmart.

I think half the fun of the Keurig thing is finding which KCups you like. Mine came with a variety pack, and it was fun picking through those and discovering stuff. I found that to be very entertaining and I found some really good stuff. Now that the adventure is over Ive found that I like to do a lot of the Donut Shop, Emirls Big Easy Bold, and Newmans Own.

I do have some tea for it also, I found some unsweetened stuff... it's really not bad at all, but WOW that is really expensive for a glass of tea.
