Anyone else disgusted? My husband thinks it looks delicious. Has anyone ever heard of his recipe? Yikes.

I wouldn't call pseudo-margarine and ketchup on pasta a 'recipe' really.

Everything about those people is disgusting - that's no different.

Unless your husband is telling you that from the prison camp where he's currently being starved to death, I'd say it's time for a talk and handing him a recipe for actual marinara sauce and pointing him toward the kitchen.

I am no fan of the Honey Boo Boo clan. The concoction with the "butter" and ketchup with the kettie is gross. Mama June can coupon but can she cook? Looks like if it's not with a microwave she is lost.

Watched that clip just now, and wanted to vomit :crazy2: Also, all of my Italian genes got angry because they had to witness the destruction of perfectly good pasta ;)

There were some Honey Boo Boo sightings around her last weekend. We're all wondering if they might have filmed them at Dollywood.

Oh my!!

*sigh* DS has decided that he wants to refuse to eat pasta sauce. (Thanks SO MUCH DH for encouraging this crap by refusing to eat sauce on spaghetti when you will eat it on all other types of pasta. And of course, DS hates all types of pasta except spaghetti....) So, when we're at a restaurant, he'll ask if he can have ketchup with his buttered noodles. I (and everyone else with half a brain) look on in horror as he makes his concoction. He's not allowed by the ketchup bottle at home. You want plain buttered noodles? Fine. But you're not putting ketchup on that crap!

WOW:crazy2: I feel so bad for the children, as they are raised like this and think living like this is normal and okay. I feel sorry for the classmates of these girls:scared:

Sigh.

I will admit that growing up, when my mom made swedish meatballs and egg noodles, since I didn't eat meat, I would just have the egg noodles, with butter and ketchup and peas.

And it tastes REALLY good. Still a comfort food to me.

But really...spaghetti sauce is quick and cheap and easy to make. If they want SPAGHETTI SAUCE...at least have the proper sauce. Butter and ketchup are not equal to simmer tomato sauce with yummy spices and parm cheese, lol!

My kids tried this once, I told the server that we would not need the ketchup and that the buttered noodles would be just fine. I told them no way were they adding ketchup to their noodles. They didn't ask again. lol

You eat ketchup with your Swedish meatballs?

OP I've watched about 10 minutes of this show, I couldn't do it. My sister tells me how hilarious it is and I just can't watch it. I heard about the country crock and ketchup and seriously about gagged, sounded so disgusting! I told a friend about it Monday night and he gagged too.
I'd rather spend my TV watching Face Off! or CSI or Big Bang Theory, I'll pass on the Honey Boo Boo thanks.

Have any of you actually tried spaghetti with ketchup?

My mom used to make it for us when we were kids and we liked it.

I recently tried it again just to see how it would taste to me now as an adult and it was not too bad.

I wouldn't put the butter on spaghetti, plain or with ketchup. To me that sounds gross;)

Edited to add: No I am not some sort of a hillbilly.

My brother liked the ketchup on the meatballs. So the ketchup was out, I tried it on my buttered noodles and LOVED it. It's not much different than ketchup on your mac-n-cheese or the like.

FWIW, I still don't eat meat, but I use the gravy on buttered noodles now...with ketchup and peas mixed in. It's REALLY good..

There is very VERY little I will NOT put ketchup on, though. Nectar of the Gods..
