Wasnt sure if this was the right place to post this...

My best friend and I are going to WDW in july for her 30th bday. Her absolute favorite character in Kermit the Frog. While I know he isnt true disney, there is the Muppet 3-d at MGM.
I was wondering if Kermit the frog ever appears to sign autographs like the other characters... it would really make her birthday if she had her pic taken or got a birthday card signed by him...

Any ideas?

He does appear in MGM but youd be pretty lucky to see him. Hes not out that often as far as I know. Even Miss Piggy appears sometimes too. If you are staying at a Disney resort ask them if they have Kermit sign cards, they had Lilo&Stitch sign mine for my bday, they also signed it from Floyd my boyfriend for him, so it was signed from him when I got it, you can ask them to sign it from you too.

He and Miss Piggy are outside of Muppets 3D.

We've been to WDW 4 times and I've never seen Kermit :sad1: I wish they would make him a "regular".

There is a small Muppet-themed shop near MV3-D that your friend might enjoy. ::yes::

Yep, definately at MGM and right by the muppet 3d pavilion. I've seen him every year for the last 3 years at that location, however, I think you only get about one opportunity a day to see him and kermit so you better check the scheduled times.

both kermit and piggy are parade only characters now. They will never appear in the parks again, and when DSMC leaves you will probably never see them again.

The Henson family hate the way the costumes looked and said if they were ever used outside of the parade again they would use thier power to pull muppets completely from the park.

he is in the parade at MGM and can also be found infront of the muppets 3d movie. Ask CM for approx times.

We saw him outside of Muppet 3D. My DS then 3 years old had a very magical moment with him. It was so cute.

When we were at MGM I stopped in one of the stores (or guest services) and they were able to call and tell me where and when you can find a character. So it would be worth asking. :wizard:

well I work at MGM and i'm telling yah he aint' out anymore except the parade.

The Henson family doesn't really own the Muppets anymore, though, do they? Didn't Disney buy them out last year. It was one of Eisner's last hurrahs before he rightfully got the boot.

I've heard that Disney is really trying to brand the Muppets again, but unfortunately aren't having much luck (then again, with the dreck movie "Muppets Wizard of Oz" it's tough to pull in new viewers).

Here's hoping for more of Kermie and the Pig in the future.

This won't help much if they don't appear anymore, but they used to often be out infront of M3D at aroudn 10 AM, and there was never anyone else there cos they were still all queueing for ToT or RRC.

I've been to WDW three times and I only saw Kermit last June. Only one of my sons got his autograph (it's actually a stamp that he uses instead of a pen) but now thinking about it, I'm not even sure if we got his picture (I'm thinking our camera was having a moment at the time) :(

We have never been able to see them yet. The CM's we have talked to say that they aren't coming out any time soon so it does seem very sporadic as to when they do.

I feel lucky, now, that we got both Kermit and Miss Piggy outside the Muppets store a few years ago!

Well thank you all for those responses! I will definitely ask when we get to MGM if there's any chance at all of seeing him.
My friend is such a kermit fan that I just know she'd be ecstatic to see him and get a picture taken with him!

Thansk again everyone - I'll keep my fingers crossed that we are as lucky as some of you were!

 Tell me it isn't so!!!!!! I have my picture with Kermit and Piggy together from December 2004 (I hope the picture works. I've never tried this before!)

I LOVE the Muppets! And here, I was praying for a photo op with Animal - my one true love of my life!

Oh well, I am still looking forward to seeing the Muppets 3D and finding the key under the rug and the "net full of jello/Annette Funicello!

I had a friend who worked at Muppets last fall on the CP, so this info is comming from them. Piggie and Kermit can now only be seen riding in their car during the parade at the Studios and do not do any more photo/autograph sessions. While Disney does own the muppets characters, the Henson Family (more of Mrs. Henson at the moment) still have major control over what they can and can not do.

Well I am disappointed to hear they are parade only. I wonder if we asked Guest Services to "obtain an autograph" while we enjoy the park and come back later if they would do that.
I know the Magic Kingdom will do that if there is a specific charater some one is looking for. I mean sure, its just a CM signing Kermits name, but hey we can all pretend right? :)

If your friend loves Kermit, go to Jellyrolls! :thumbsup2 Jellyrolls is located on the Boardwalk, and is dulling piano bar. While there request “Rainbow Connection”, a duet once sung by Kermit and Miss Piggy. The pianist at Jellyrolls does a great rendition of this song. You may have to give $10 tip or so, but it is well worth. I have seen this “bit” done quite a few times and every time I laugh. I won’t spoil it for you, but it is hilarious. :rotfl2:

Good luck
