This makes a lot of sense with the upcoming show. One could argue that they could have used the first season of "Muppet Office" to have them slowly break up, but now it seems like the entire show will be surrounding the aftermath of the breakup. Btw, re-watch the trailer and you can see that they definitely were planning this all along...

Only in the way that Bugs Bunny was a kid's cartoon. I know that my friends and I were loving the Muppets Show when it aired in prime time when we were in high school back in the late 70's. I think we were "getting" far more of the jokes than, say, a 6 year old did.
