So, we're going away this weekend, up north about 2 hours to spend the 4th with DH's dad & the family. We can't bring our 8YO dog, because they have 2 very jealous dogs themselves, and I don't want them to hurt my Cupcake.
She's quite a "homebody", and was miserable at the kennel when we took her there several years ago for a week when we went to Disney. My brother and sister (who are staying in the area) have offered to stop by, feed and take out Cupcake during the weekend.
We'll be gone from mid-morning Saturday until early morning Monday (quite early; DD has dance camp starting that morning). Do you think she'll be okay at home those days, with Sis and Bro coming to visit her, or do you think I should kennel her for that time? Eww, another consideration I *just* now thought of; the only kennel in the area needs a certification of kennel cough vaccination, and I don't know if the vet could get her in in time for it. Ugh.
So I guess what I'm looking for is... she won't be too terribly lonely without us those two days... will she? I love my dog so very much and I don't want her to be sad.
She will have the cats there (one of them is her "sister"), and I thought maybe I could leave a radio on for "white noise" for her.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
