I have read that the kennels open an hour prior to park opening and remain open until an hour after closing, but do you know if that applies to EMH also?

We will be kenneling a dog each morning but will be doing early entry also. I will want to be at the parks when they open for early entry so would hate if the kennel opened at the same time for parks doing extended hours.

The kennels open early to correspond with early EMH.

Regarding night EMH's, sometimes they extend the time a little but sometimes they still close before the official EMH ending.

However, as I learned on this last trip, it's no big deal. The kennels have a red phone outside the door. If you arrive after they close, simply pick up the phone, security answers (many times security stays at the kennel until VERY late because they get called there so much until everyone is out of the park) the phone and they come over and you show them the pink sheet (you'll get a pink sheet with your name and dog's name), show them your ID and they'll let you get your dog 24/7.

Dont' worry about getting there after it closes, you'll get your animal fine. I am obsessive over my dog and never wanted to risk being late, just in case i had trouble getting him. However this last trip we got there 1 hour after closing with no problems.

Just to tell you how standard it is that security lets you in...........for MNSSHP and MVMCP, they close the kennels before the party ends, so everyone there has to call for security, so in most cases, security just stays there to let you in.

If you let them know you are worried about it, at checkin, they'll reassure you with everything I've told you.

So they open an hour earlier than EMH?

Thanks for the reassurance :)

Ok, just spoke with Scott at the kennelse at MK.

the kennel opens at 8:00 everyday. Even if the EMH is before 8:00 they still open at 8:00

However you have 24 hour acess to the kennel.

If you get there before they are open (at any time, even if 6:00 am for example) use the call box for security, and an officer will come, set up a kennel for you, let you in, and board your pet. You simply have to check in later in the day so they can get the payment from you and set up your paperwork.

So, really you have NOTHING to worry about!!!!!!!!!

I had one question, a little off topic. I always wondered, do any Disney Resorts allow pets??

Unfortunately, no they don't. Just FYI for the future, my wife and I go to disney every month.

Our dog has to sleep with us at night. He lies in our arms like a baby, except he's a 18 lb dog.

Anyways, there are LOTS of decent and even very nice hotels in the area that take dogs for a small fee. We simply get those hotels and take our dog over each day for a day stay. If we want to go to dinner, we simply leave, keep him there, and come back to get him since you can pick up your pet 24/7.

Thanks for checking! In our case, my wife will have a new guide dog (her third, but she is actually in NY training with her now), and we will kennel her during peak park hours.

We will get her in the evenings for more casual touring such as World Showcase, etc. and of course, she will go back to the resorts with us each night. But naturally, that is a bit on an exception ;)

And yes, we are choosing not to use her in the parks because of the crowds (DW would rather be on my arm so she can speak easier, etc.) and because there are so many attractions we would not put her on. However, she will get out in Downtown Disney, etc.
