Kennel at Disneyland Vaccine Requirements

Has anyone ever used this kennel? I was considering it if I could find a decent pet friendly hotel nearby, so I could still have my dog with me overnight. The webpage says they need more vaccines than I normally give. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/guest-services/kennel/

I was at the vet yesterday and asked about it. Parainfluenza and Hepatitis are a couple that I've never heard mentioned specifically at the vet. The tech said she thought those were extra/different than the normally recommended vaccines and that Disneyland would require them because they get dogs from all over the world. A different vet tech checked us out and she said that they looked it up for me and Disneyland didn't require any additional vaccines than what we already have. I guess I left confused because now I don't know if they checked the vaccines (they are combos, I guess) or if they checked the requirements for the kennel there. My dogs get the normally recommended parvo combo, rabies and bortatella. Does anyone know if more are required for the day kennel at the park?

I am glad to see they added the bordetella to the vaccines required. That wasn't on the list a couple years ago. Do your dogs get the 5way vaccines? If so, it is included. Most vets do the 5 way.

The H in DHPP is hepatitis and the other P is parainfluenza, occasionally the parainfluenza can be in a bordetella combo. Just get a print out of your vaccine record from your vet. Never used the kennel. Doesn't seem like there would be very many good areas to potty in the DLR area but my dog is a bit fussy.

Hi Cruisehopeful,

Here's the gist on the kennel club. You need to have your dog vaccinated for C5 and Rabies. This would be the DHPP and Bordetella (you can have the DHPP and then the separate Bordetella or you can get the C5 - sometimes called the DHPPB). You will need to have the print out from your vet with the dates the injections were given and the letterhead needs to have the vet's name and address, telephone number...etc. It will also need the vet's signature. I cannot emphasize enough how important this piece of paper is. I have seen people turned away without it. I would be shocked to hear that your dog has not had the required vaccines if he/she is vaccinated for Bortatella.

The kennels are first come, first served. So get there early. You can bring your canine friend on the parking lot trams if you are parking in the Mickey and Friends parking lot (if you are parking at toy story, they cannot come on the bus, so you will need to walk to Disneyland...just a heads up).

The kennel staff can do nothing that might require them to open the door to the kennel, so they can give your pet water if the bowl is in the frount...you will need to feed and walk (you must return a minimum of every 4 hours to walk your dog). There is a small play area for the dogs and you can take them on short walks around the area to help with toileting.

The kennels are generally very clean but small. I have had several of my dogs visit for one day or so. It does allow for my pup/s to come with me on Disneyland trips.

Hope this helps,
AussieCaribou

In years of doing the kennels, I have never seen the kennel sold out. That said, the "good spots" can go fast. In the past, the kennels have fed the dogs. (They fed Purina.) But something probably happened, and they no longer do. If your pup has a favorite toy or blanket, you can bring it for their visit.

Thanks for all the answers! It sounds like my dog does have all the required vaccines. I've just never heard them broken up like that before. The kennels at home just use the abbreviated DHPP.
