Hi all, first up big apologies if I am posting this in the incorrect forum but I am taking my dad and sister to WDW for the first time (for them not me, I went last year) and my dad was telling me about how he would love to see the Kennedy Space Centre while he is there. As we are there for about 2 weeks, he definitely has enough time to do a day trip however, I am after some help. Im wondering if anyone has done this before and if anyone knows of a day trip company that will come and pick him up from a Disney resort, go to the space centre for the day then drop him back off? If so, does anyone know what this would cost and if Disney help desk would help us organise it for him? Any information would be appreciated!

google is your friend. Or have you looked on the KSFC web site? Rent a car for the day? It may be the least expensive option.

Undercover Tourist has a package with Gray Line Orlando/Gator Tours .
I would recommend booking through Undercover Tourist.
It is an incredible place to visit. Your dad will have an amazing day!

Good to know. We'll be going there next year.
For a family it may not be the best cost effective solution. But it works for one or two people and especially for people who would prefer someone do the driving for them! My dad did the tour one trip, another trip we picked up a car over at the Swalphin and rented it for the day. Also, if you are a US citizen - check in with your Senator at least 6 months before the trip - they might have some free tickets for you.

I took my DS to Kennedy last year during our trip to WDW as he really wanted to go but we drove from our resort to Kennedy.

If he can I would highly recommend taking one of the tours that they offer.

I love the space center. One of the least talked about attractions near Orlando and one of the best. Mears has a shuttle and Grey Lines has a tour, but if all 3 of you are going, a car rental for the day would probably be the best and cheapest option. While you could spend all day at KSC, it is close to the beach and with a car, can head over for a bit afterwards.

We've been and love it, I would recommend renting a car for the day, the price is probably equal to or less than getting a service and you would have the freedom of the car.

We have done this many times, both bus (before I got brave enough to drive in USA) and by renting car (car is better if you all go, and if you haven't been and as you have two weeks go it's worth it). Getting a car from the Dolphin hotel (we use Alamo) and driving is fun and it is such as easy drive, once you are off the I4 and then on the road (it's two lanes both ways) it is basically a straight line, but constantly interrupted by tolls. The bus is easy also I am sure someone will do pick up at WDW - we used Mears.

We did Gator tours to see one of the last shuttle launches and they picked us up near our hotel in the Downtown Disney area. You may be better off renting a vehicle for the day cost and freedom wise, but if you dont want the hassle a tour company is a good option.

We did this a few trips ago and considered taking the Mears shuttle, but ended up renting a car for 3 days instead. It was very easy to do since they have a car car center on property. We also did a day at Universal.

Thank you all for your very helpful replies! Im looking into the bus option as it will just be him and my sister (I have friends from MN. visiting the same time so will be spending the day with them), so may be easier with pick up bus options. Im sure they are both going to love it!!
