We're planning a visit there the day after Thanksgiving and we are staying at Cocoa Beach. Is there any benefit to getting tickets in advance as far as saving time in the morning? Is there usually a long line to purchase tickets? If I do want to get them in advance, where would I purchase them?

I tend to agree, as this will give you more flexibility in your touring date. Depending on how long you're staying, you may want to let the weather and/or your mood guide you as to which day you visit.

If you're only able to go on that one day and you KNOW you're going, you may want your tickets ahead of time so you have one less line to stand in.

Thanks, yes, we only have one day-the Friday after Thanksgiving. We will arrive Thanksgiving and then head back to WDW on that Saturday. I'm actually hoping we can breeze through the Space Center and then head for the beach and pier. I also want to try and see the manatee sanctuary. But I'm really hoping for at least a walk on the beach!

Depending on where you are staying in Cocoa Beach, you can get a great walk on the beach in around 6:30am when the sun is coming up. Then you could go to the Space Center after breakfast. It opens at 10 am and I certainly would get your money's worth touring through the exhibits at the Visitors' Complex and taking the bus tour. You should be finished around noon or a little bit after.

Thank you for the link! I was looking for kennedy space center info too.

We went to KSC last Feb. We almost didn't go because I thought our girls 10 & 12 would be bored (and me too). Entry was a little confusing because there are several types of admissions. We decided to spend a little more and do the lunch with the astronaut admission. I can't tell you how worth it this was. We had a wonderful buffet lunch with a space shuttle commander as a speaker. The kids got to ask questions and have their picture taken. They were given literature to bring back to school. It was a great day and ended up being the highlight of our trip (and I'm not a big space nut). We had intended to stay a few hours and go to Cocoa Beach. We ended up being there from 11am to 8pm when they were locking up. Have a great time.

Okay-next question??? The different admissions I see either include the Astronaut Hall of Fame or not-Is the Hall of Fame on the grounds of Kennedy or do you have to drive there? I'm thinking we would not go if we had to drive there so I would just get the regular admission??

The Astronaut Hall of Fame is not on KSC grounds, but it is just a short drive away on SR 405. If memory serves, I think it may be closed, but I am not sure. It may have only been closed temporarily. Try calling 407-267-3184 for information.
