We want to do a day trip to the space center and some of the hotels state that we can buy tickets from them instead of the hassle of having to buy them at the space center. So my questions are: Where should we buy tickets and do we need to buy tickets in advance.

Really not a hassle to buy at the KSC ticket counter as it is usually not overwhelming crowded. Only advantage to buy in advance or offsite would be if a slight discount was offered.

You can also try contacting your senator's office. They used to be able to give out a certain number of tickets each year. Not sure if that is still the case, but it doesn't hurt to ask! Otherwise, you can buy them at the gate or online. The only thing you would need advance tickets for is if you plan to do one of the tours besides the one included in your admission.
