Will be in the world for 7 nights and only 2 days in the parks. Kids are not comming this time, so we want it to be cheaper, because in January we'll go back and with them and do both Universal and Disney. It is more like a relaxing trip... Where else in the world would I cool it off???:woohoo: We'll have our car so I was thinking about visiting Kennedy space Center, is there enough for a day, is 1 day enough? For those of you who visited there, please give me comments.;)

Interested as well :). My son wants to go on our next trip and trying to figure out if its a full day or if we can also sneak in the ocean the same day ;)

KSC can be done in a day or less. There is a tour bus that takes you to various spots. There is an (extremely) patriotic video explaining why the Americans went to the moon (they're honest though!!), and there's lots to do and see. Observation towers that can be climbed.

Good gift shops, too.

And if you're lucky, you'll get a bus guide who also enjoys pointing out the wildlife, as the land owned by NASA is also considered a conservation area.

I would say it is doable in a long afternoon, but I wouldn't want to be there for 7 hours or anything.

This visitor centre is geared more toward adults than other ones I've been to (the one in Houston is focused more on children), so you'll be entertained the entire time.

Took my family on a side-trip from WDW last spring and spent a full day at KSC, and still felt like there were a number of things that we ended up not seeing.

We went off-season, so the lines were short for things like the bus tour and the launch simulator. If you plan to be there when it's busy, at least one full day is a must.

Edited to add: We also pre-booked the "Have Lunch with an Astronaut" experience. Very, very cool to meet someone who has been in space and to hear their stories.

Go if you can. We did it in one day, back in March. Just DH and me. Seeing the space shuttle made me cry and my husband choked up too. The drive I found was relaxing. We took our own GPS and had no troubles getting there. Don't pack any snacks or drinks though, they check bags.

We went to Kennedy a couple of years ago and loved it! Unfortunately we didn't do enough research on it so we missed out on a lot of things. I highly recommend the VIP tour. It's a bit expensive but they take you into the building where the shuttles were prepared for launch and we got to see the launch pad up close (in the bus)

KSC is terrific and there's more than enough for a full day of touring, but the tickets are $40 per person, so it's not what I would call inexpensive.
Also, you can sign up for their e-mail launch notifications, maybe a rocket launch while you're there.

We've been a few times and it is really cool! It's quite a long drive though, so just be prepared for that. Maybe an hour, hour and a half? I can't remember for sure.

With the long drive and ticket prices, I wouldn't call it cheap, but it's still very interesting!
