I hope I 'm posting this in the right place. This will be our first time to go to the space center. We are getting the regular admission tickets. They also have extra bus tours. Any advice on the extra tours? Are they worth the extra $$$? And which extra tour or both?
Also looking onto the mantee - dolphin river tour out of cocoa beach. Has anyone been on these? We are from MI. and love nature and animals in their natural habitat. I understand you will see dolphins and mantee , plus lots of other native animals.

You don't say when you are going, but in case it is soon, there is a launch scheduled for next Thursday, Feb 24 at 4:50pm. Might be worth checking out!

We found KSC WAY overpriced for a government agency.

We paid extra for a bus tour to take us to see launch pads (from a great distance). I wouldn't do that again.

We really enjoyed KSC. We spent the entire day there. There is another building down the street - Astronaut museum , I think - that we wanted to get to but ran out of time. We did the bus tour and found it very interesting. There are 3 stops and we only did the one that was recommended because we didn't think the kids could last that long. The only issue we had was with their bus loading at the stop. It was crowded and it took forever to get on a return bus.

I was concerned that the tour wouldn't be worth it and the kids would be bored but it was exactly the opposite. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

We did KSC after our last 2 trips to Disney. Last year we also included the extra bus tour to see the launch pads. We spent 2 full days and still ran out of time at the Astronaut Musuem. Our family is full of Space nuts though and I grew in Titusville with my dad working on the cape, so not everyone may enjoy it as much as we did.

We won't be there until 3/2 -3/5 but dad and mom are going and getting there on that day . When I seen the launch was going they said they might get there a day earlier.

I found that KSC was way over rated. Me and the kids was bored to tears when went with our boy scout troop. Yes we did do the bus tours too.

Technically, the KSC visitor complex isn't run by a government agency- it's a NASA facility, but the company Delaware North runs the visitor stuff for them.

Hi all,
Don't want to hi-jack, but this seemed a logical place to ask the question...
Are there picnic facilities at the space center?

Thanks!

If you have any space nuts in your family, it's a great day. My DH and I are old enough to remember Neil Armstrong landing on the moon, so we really like this place. We do pay the extra for the bus tour and there is lots to see (three stops) out there. We have never made it to the Astronaut museum.

As for picnics, no reason why you couldn't bring in a picnic lunch if you can get it through security. The food court there is TERRIBLE so they should certainly let you bring in something decent to eat. Worst "hamburger" of my life. It was gray and completely flavorless. I kept opening the bun to see exactly what was in there. Looking at it may have been my first mistake...
