We are traveling to WDW and the Kennedy Space Center later this week with our 9 year old DD. She is very physically impaired and requires a wheelchair (custom, not a folding model) and uses a talker to communicate. I'm not really concerned with WDW, but I have some questions for anyone who has done Kennedy Space Center.
I've booked the lunch with an astronaut and the Nasa up Close Tour for our visit to KSC. The booking agent said the tour was totally accessible, but I'd love to hear from someone who's been. This is going to be the highlight of my DD's trip (yes she is a science geek, and is more excited about KSC than WDW!!) so I would like to know what we looking at. Any info would be a great help.

Your DD should enjoy KSC since she's really interested in science...it's an awesome place! I went to their website and found the following info under FAQ's and Inquiries. I know you will have your own wheelchair but the answer below indicates accessibility is there.

Are wheelchairs and strollers available at the Visitor Complex?

Complimentary wheelchairs and strollers are available at the Visitor Complex and each of our tour destinations as a courtesy to our guests. See a Crewmember from our wheelchair/stroller distribution area. A valid form of identification is retained for use of the wheelchairs and strollers.

Since you probably have more questions than this answers, you can contact KSC by e-mail and find out more. Use the link below -

Have a wonderful trip and tell us all about your visit when you get back! :wave2:
