Congratulations to Keith Olberman for speaking what so many Americans feel but may be afraid to say in public.

I believe this presidency will be viewed in history as the most corrupt and damaging of all time. GWB is a monster and liar. He purposely misled the nation to support his own self-serving agenda. How Bill Clinton was impeached and GWB is still in office is beyond my comprehension:confused3

As far as showing respect, I respect the office of the President of the United States, however, I refuse to show any respect for the moron that holds the office now. In my eyes, he is evil. The damage he has done to our country in the eyes of the world will take years to repair.

BTW, I want everyone to know that I support the soldiers that are in Iraq. They signed on to do a mission as instructed by the Commander In Chief and it is not any fault of their own that we are in a place where we have no business being.

Are you kidding me on the Bill Clinton comment?!?!?!?! And please, whether you agree with GWB or not...he is not evil. Come on...

OK, I will bite....but telling Amercans in general and the troops specifically that you gave up golf for them was a pathetic way to get noticed. Then to be caught playing golf a few weeks later after your great sacrfce for the troops was beyond pathetic.

Beyond pathetic sums up Bush's sacrifice exactly!

He does evil things, which is probably because of his cohorts who push him to do it. I don't think Bush himself is evil, but easily manipulated. Cheney...he's evil.

As for Bill Clinton, he didn't threaten the security of the country and it should have been a private matter between him and his family. It's an issue a million miles away from starting misguided invasions of other countries in a hostile area of the world.

Maybe not evil, but he will be remembered as one of the worst presidents in history. Bush surely has not been a positive force for our nation, that's for sure.

Nope, not kidding on the Clinton comment. His personal morals stink but he was a good President. And yes, I do believe Bush is evil. He scares me just looking at him, knowing the power he has. Look at the damage he has done to our reputation in the world community.

Based on your avatar, I can see we won't agree on much in this thread. So I am done here. Enjoy Keith Olbermann...some people must be since he's still on TV...

Can anyone name one positive thing about GWB??? Maybe those Barney Christmas videos, but that 's all I can see. Most of the world outside of America also has no respect for GWB..doesn't that say something about what type of leader he has been.

I will agree to disagree!! You are right, I am a fan of KO, but I would still be against the policies of GWB even if KO was a weatherman!!

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing
-Edmund Burke

I love this quote. My nephews Marine unit in Iraq has it printed really huge and hanging in their barracks.

.

Frankly, I think Bush is right. Had he been out playing golf while our servicewomen and men were fighting, I think it would have been a sad thing. I would have been hacked had my son died while he was enjoying a round in Augusta.

He WAS out playing golf...

That's what we've done in Iraq. Mismanaged?

Mismanage is when I overdraw my checking account. When tens of thousands of people are slaughtered, for NO justifiable cause, it is murder IMO, not mismanagement.

When more then 4,000 of our American troops die following the orders of a corrupt and devious administration it is murder, not mismanagement.

Keith Olbermann was dead right!

You missed thr point. He made the remark about his great golf sacrafice and then went out to play a few weeks later. So, by your accounts there shouldbe plenty of parents that should be "hacked".

This is what a radio talk show host, overdosed on Koolaid, looks like. Other guests don't even have to speak.

Lake Ariel.....

I just saw that on MSNBC!!!! Kevin James should be ashamed of himself!!!! Who would go on TV to talk about an issue when they obviously know nothing about what is being discussed!!!!!!! What a joke, Chris Matthews asked him 19 times and not once could he answer!!!!!!! I like the part when Matthews says.."Well what did he do" and all he could come up with was..."He's an appeaser!" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: GWB doesn't need help like Kevin James!!!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Actually his ratings keep improving every year AFAIK...since more people are finally seeing through the lies and deceipt of this administration

In what way?

Clearly you're unaware of just how different the mindset is in the middle east. That part of the world has been unstable for a few millenia, it's again farsical that Bush thinks he could somehow change that.

It's really disappointing to see this kind of racism on the DIS.

I really miss Olbermann on Sportscenter and when he did radio with Dan Patrick. They were a fabulous pair.

FSUMARCHIEF - As I was reading through this thread and preparing to respond, I came across your post. You summed up everything I was thinking and said it quite eloquently and respectfully.

What many libs do not understand is that regardless of who becomes president, it is important to respect the office, even if we do not like the man or woman in that office. When we degrade the office as Olberman did, then we degrade America as well. Disagreement with policies is one thing and fine within the system of our government, but vile name calling is another.

MSNBC and NBC have been under fire lately for their very biased news reporting. Their falling ratings need sensationalism and that is what Olberman tries to do, but his 'over the top' comments turn many people, except the furthest left-wing, off.

I'm not here to argue with anyone. This will be my only response to this thread. Just going to state my thoughts. I thought what Olberman did was despicable. I understand that because we live in a free country he has the right to do and think whatever it is that he wants. And whomever it was who said it, "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." They were right....

....However, the tendency of the left is to disrespect the Bush Administration. Never once did he call the President, "President Bush." It was always Mr. Bush - a frequent tactic of the left because they've never liked or respected this President...

....I heard Neal Boortz say this once, and it was perhaps the best illustration I've heard. Just suppose that some bully in a schoolyard came up told you that he was going to pop you one in the nose. You see him make a fist, rare back and begin to move his arm forward. What are you going to do? Stand there and let him do it? Heck no. you're going to move out of the way so he doesn't hit you. And most likely you're going to then punch him before he punches you.

That's what we've done in Iraq. Mismanaged? Maybe. Better decisions? Perhaps. I may not agree with some of the domestic policies of this administration. But as for it's stance against terrorism, I'm on board.

Olbermann ought to just crawl back to EPSN.

Oh, I forgot. He can't. He's a 'nonbiased' journalist for MSNBC.

Think my post doesn't make sense? It's filled with the same kind of biased rhetoric that Olbermann's spiel was. However, I will be willing to bet that this post will get torn apart by those on the left who disagree with me.

And yet they will still claim to be open minded.

Yeah right. To everything except an opinion that disagrees with their own.

Blessings!
Mark

**This is not a personal attack. At least not unless Keith Olberman is a registerd member of the DISboards. Which I doubt. And if he is, then yes, it's a personal attack. You were wrong for what you did. And you made America weaker because of it. If I get banned for it. So be it. To me, because I made my own so called stand, it will be worth it.
No tearing apart from me and I see no reason for you to be banned because of your comments. I personally appreciate other perspectives even when I don't agree.

I would like to comment on one portion of your post though. You said:

"I heard Neal Boortz say this once, and it was perhaps the best illustration I've heard. Just suppose that some bully in a schoolyard came up told you that he was going to pop you one in the nose. You see him make a fist, rare back and begin to move his arm forward. What are you going to do? Stand there and let him do it? Heck no. you're going to move out of the way so he doesn't hit you. And most likely you're going to then punch him before he punches you."

I would change this up a bit. Actually the bully popped you in the nose before you could react. Now you had heard that he might do this and you had already been bullied a bit but this caught you by surprise. So then you decided to go to a house in the same neighborhood and fight the inhabitants and totally trash the place. The guy in charge there was a horrible person so you took him out (good move) but you stayed and continued to fight the bully and his friends who were coming from all over. Odd situation isn't it? :confused3

I'm not personally a big fan of Olbermann but I think he's right on in this case. I understand your case for politeness but not everyone thinks like that. He could have made the same points if he's called the President Mr President though.

What many libs do not understand is that regardless of who becomes president, it is important to respect the office, even if we do not like the man or woman in that office. .

I will assume that you were equally outraged at the Republicans disrespecting President Clinton??????????????

Any point you make might be more valid if you didn't rely on Billo's dream account of what NBC and MSNBC ratings are. And, that seemingly the only ones who are 'under fire' are the same right wing noisemakers themselves for their distorted lies and continual cheer leading for a guy who thinks he's leader of the free world, and a war that every day in every way looks like a worse mistake than the day before.
