Keith Olbermann

Of course you're "smart enough" to know that bees are instinctual creatures and have no cognizant reasoning skills. Humans, however, do have that capacity. Sadly, some don't use them.

But it's refreshing to know you put bees and people in the middle east on the same level.

MIB quote: Kay "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it."

I think Oby better get some of Glenn Beck's duct tape before his head explodes.

Rant away Oby, it makes you look even more like a fool. I thought that was impossible, but there it is...

I'm not here to argue with anyone. This will be my only response to this thread. Just going to state my thoughts. I thought what Olberman did was despicable. I understand that because we live in a free country he has the right to do and think whatever it is that he wants. And whomever it was who said it, "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." They were right.

I watched this tirade and it made my blood boil. I'd love to hear what Olberman might have said when it was President Clinton attacking Iraq quoting the same intelligence that he now blasts Bush with. Don't believe me? Just google Clinton's speech after he ordered missile attacks in December of 1998. Oh heck. Why be lazy. Here's the speech...

http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1998/12/16/transcripts/clinton.html

Just google quotes from all the so called lefties supporting the move by then President Clinton. They thought then, as we do now that Hussein/Iraq was a threat. I'd love to hear Olberman's spiel after hearing Clinton explain why he'd sent missles into Iraq. Oh wait, I can't cause Olberman was a sportcaster in those days.

He's just a cheap way for the left to be entertained on MSNBC. What a sad state of affairs when Americans don't even have enough respect for the office of the presidency to even call the President, Mr. President. And perhaps it's the Southern in me. But that makes me angry. I don't care if you are a blooming idiot. I will still call you ma'am or sir. And if given the chance to meet the President of the United States I will address him/her as Mr./Mrs. President. Because my momma taught me how to respect others.

For Olberman to tell the President to shut the %$& up is despicable. And for MSNBC to allow someone they call staff to use the phrase to address the President of the United States is just as despicable.

Suppose that Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh told Nancy Pelosi or Obama to shut the %&^ up. What would you so called lefties be saying? You'd call for their heads. But because Olberman agrees with you, you think it is perfectly acceptable.

However, the tendency of the left is to disrespect the Bush Administration. Never once did he call the President, "President Bush." It was always Mr. Bush - a frequent tactic of the left because they've never liked or respected this President.

When I was in seminary, I attended a very 'liberal' School of Theology. I was one of few vocal conservatives, and learned quickly that those who considered themselves to be openminded were only open minded as long as I agreed with them. If it came to any disagreement, be it theology, politics, the role of the church in Society, regardless it didn't matter, I was wrong. There was no grey, I was wrong. Period. They pushed me and told me to be open minded about anything and everything.

Unless I disagreed with them.

And then, to them, I was just closed minded. Southern trash. Because I was a white male from South Georgia, everything was my fault. But the truth is, liberalism is just as closed minded as they accuse the right to be. As long as you agree with them, it's okay. But if you don't forget it. You're wrong. That friends is closemindedness at its height.

And I already know everything that you people will say about my comments. Trash them. I don't care. I learned a long time ago on these political threads that I wouldn't change your opinion and you certainly won't change mine. So quote away. I couldn't care less. But perhaps, in some small way I've made my own statement. Olberman hacked me off tonight.

Olberman, I know you'll never read this. But as passionately as you think you're right - I think you're wrong. I think history will prove that we've done the right thing. We just can't see past our nose right now.

Frankly, I think Bush is right. Had he been out playing golf while our servicewomen and men were fighting, I think it would have been a sad thing. I would have been hacked had my son died while he was enjoying a round in Augusta. The difference is that Olberman is out for ratings and out for politics as opposed to being an unbiased journalist. Anybody wanna argue about Olberman being biased in the mainstream media?

I heard Neal Boortz say this once, and it was perhaps the best illustration I've heard. Just suppose that some bully in a schoolyard came up told you that he was going to pop you one in the nose. You see him make a fist, rare back and begin to move his arm forward. What are you going to do? Stand there and let him do it? Heck no. you're going to move out of the way so he doesn't hit you. And most likely you're going to then punch him before he punches you.

That's what we've done in Iraq. Mismanaged? Maybe. Better decisions? Perhaps. I may not agree with some of the domestic policies of this administration. But as for it's stance against terrorism, I'm on board.

Olbermann ought to just crawl back to EPSN.

Oh, I forgot. He can't. He's a 'nonbiased' journalist for MSNBC.

Think my post doesn't make sense? It's filled with the same kind of biased rhetoric that Olbermann's spiel was. However, I will be willing to bet that this post will get torn apart by those on the left who disagree with me.

And yet they will still claim to be open minded.

Yeah right. To everything except an opinion that disagrees with their own.

Blessings!
Mark

**This is not a personal attack. At least not unless Keith Olberman is a registerd member of the DISboards. Which I doubt. And if he is, then yes, it's a personal attack. You were wrong for what you did. And you made America weaker because of it. If I get banned for it. So be it. To me, because I made my own so called stand, it will be worth it.

Oh, I forgot. He can't. He's a 'nonbiased' journalist for MSNBC.

I think he is more of a commentator. Does he present himself as faiir and balanced?

You are wrong. I'll never understand why people get defensive when other people speak the truth but they always do.

I stood up and gave him a standing ovation. I was livid when I read that Bush's contribution to the war effort was to stop playing golf. How incredibly insulting to everyone who has died, lost a loved one or been injured. Thank you Keith Oberman, well done.

Bush even lied about giving up golf. What a sad sack of **** he is.

I think Oby better get some of Glenn Beck's duct tape before his head explodes.

Rant away Oby, it makes you look even more like a fool. I thought that was impossible, but there it is...

You crack me up! :lmao:

You condemn Mr. Olberman as a ranting fool and then include Glenn Beck in the same dialog!

Isn't Glenn Beck the new "Church Lady"? And isn't he just as guilty of rantings?

No need to respond, John. We already know how you feel about anyone that doesn't agree with you.

Poor pathetic little Keith....this is his only way to get noticed.

And you made America weaker because of it. If I get banned for it.

We're in SERIOUS trouble if people all believe that a news commentator has more effect on the "weakening" of America, when he calls out one of the worst presidents in the history of our country. I mean this is ridiculous.

Yes, he has every right to say what he said, and those other right wing commentators have done things recently that don't even go after policies or actions of Obama or Clinton, they go after them because they're Democrats, nothing more.

Keith Olbermann was dead on when he talked about this huge lie about not playing golf anymore, why does Bush seem so distant from wanting to do ANYTHING to help our troops??????? He will freely send them to die but won't help them get the aid they need if they don't

There's only one problem with this analogy...it's completely wrong. :lmao: There was no threat there, and Saddam was not a danger to us. I don't know if anyone in the freaking media realizes it, but that's what makes this a preventative war, rather than a "preemptive" war. There was nothing "preempted" by our invasion of that country, and it has done nothing to make us safer. In fact, quite the opposite, according to all sources outside the white house, including the CIA assessment. Al Queda has used our illegal invasion as a recruiting godsend. For this I'm supposed to respect the idiot that led this disaster? :confused3

Respect is earned, and Bush hasn't done anything since taking office to deserve it.

Sorry...Keith was 100% right about Bush. Like it or not, that doesn't change.

Poor pathetic little Keith....this is his only way to get noticed.

Personally, I am glad he is out there speaking for those who are sick of GWB and his ridiculous presidency. I am glad he brought GWB's "sacrifice" to the attention of the nation.

At least KO gets attention for calling out the president on his crass statements about his giving up golf...while someone like Limbaugh is taking the ability he has to be heard to disrupt the voting process around the nation. Voting is a sacred right in our country, people fought and died for that right, but Limbaugh doesn't seem to care about telling his lemmings to desecrate the vote....what a way to get attention:scared1: !!!! Go Olbermann!!!

Let's see how history remembers old GWB....not too kindly I predict!!! KO was right on....the truth is painful about our Commander in Chief and his administration.

I only read through the first page of this thread, so I may be in the minority here, but personally I cannot stand Keith Olbermann. The most I see of him on TV is when I am scanning the channels. I won't give his show the time of day...

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing
-Edmund Burke

A sincere thank you to Keith Olbermann for being the voice of many patriotic Americans who love their country and want it to be better. :goodvibes

Poor pathetic little Keith....this is his only way to get noticed.

OK, I will bite....but telling Amercans in general and the troops specifically that you gave up golf for them was a pathetic way to get noticed. Then to be caught playing golf a few weeks later after your great sacrfce for the troops was beyond pathetic.

Congratulations to Keith Olberman for speaking what so many Americans feel but may be afraid to say in public.

I believe this presidency will be viewed in history as the most corrupt and damaging of all time. GWB is a monster and liar. He purposely misled the nation to support his own self-serving agenda. How Bill Clinton was impeached and GWB is still in office is beyond my comprehension:confused3

As far as showing respect, I respect the office of the President of the United States, however, I refuse to show any respect for the moron that holds the office now. In my eyes, he is evil. The damage he has done to our country in the eyes of the world will take years to repair.

BTW, I want everyone to know that I support the soldiers that are in Iraq. They signed on to do a mission as instructed by the Commander In Chief and it is not any fault of their own that we are in a place where we have no business being.

I completely agree with so much of what Keith Olbermann has repeatedly said. This is not new for him to be vocal about the situation but it is perhaps the most livid I've seen him and rightfully so. Thank goodness we have a few more months before the moron is out of office. Unfortunately, it is going to take YEARS if not decades to clean up the mess that GWB has made.

**also putting it out there - I agree with 4cruisin in this statement

"BTW, I want everyone to know that I support the soldiers that are in Iraq. They signed on to do a mission as instructed by the Commander In Chief and it is not any fault of their own that we are in a place where we have no business to be."
