Keeping Use Year the same when purchasing at another resort?

We just purchased our 2nd contract at VGF. Both contracts are April UY. We did this so that both contracts would fall under the same membership number and be easier to keep up with. We would also like to purchase a contract or two at BLT. My question: is there any reason to only purchase April UY at BLT too? Since the contracts will be at a different resort, would they be able to be added to my same membership number if they were also April UY (and same ownership)? I guess my question is: is there any reason to only purchase April UY at a different resort? Or am I free to purchase any UY? Would appreciate any guidance on this subject! Thanks!

I have purchased at different resorts, all with the same UY. I did this for the same reasons as you when you purchased your two VGF. For one membership, it does not matter how many different resorts you purchase as long it is the same UY. Good Luck !

Same UY is easier to deal with if the UY is working for you. A different UY is a separate membership.

Have you thought about adding on at BCV or BWV? We find that owning MK and Epcot/DHS resorts works well. We can focus on staying at park close resorts and not waste time on buses. One year BWV, next year VGF.

When do you travel????
I own a Sept UY for my Fall trips, and a Feb UY for my spring trips?
Does an April UY work for you?
Do you travel from Dec 1 to April 1? Do you see yourself travelling during those times in the future? If you do, you may want another UY.....

We have two different UY's, and it doesn't seem to be that big a problem to deal with the two separate contracts. They both come up on your DVC website after you log in with your points shown for each.

Will you combine points for reservations at 7 months? Or will you always use your new BLT points for a different vacation at a different time of year?

Keeping the same use year is much easier to manage. There are benefits to having a contract with a different use year, but only if you will always treat them as completely separate memberships.

I have multiple contracts in my main use year, but I do have a small BWV contract with a different use year that I use for Food & Wine trips and nothing else.

There is reason, mostly using the points together at 7 months out. But there are reasons to have them separate as well such as targeting specifics trip times with a different UY or having extra wait list spots.
