My wife and I have been taking our family to disney world for many years. Now there are grandchildren, fortunately we are able to continue our trips to disney world with all of our family. In 2008 my wife and I almost canceled our family trip to disney world. This was because we had noticed the year before not being able to keep up with the children and grandchildren at the different disney parks. Walking all day on cement, not being able to sit and rest because benches were already taken can take a toll on any one in good physical condition. My wife and I are both sixty years old and we have some medical problems, but we still do walk and have been able to keep up with the kids. Lets face it, when your in your sixtys and you are walking all day at each disney world park trying to keepup with the children and grandchildren it don't take long before you are burnt out. So in 2008 I called vacation scootors in orlando and had two scootors delivered to our vacation home in orlando. This was the beginning of the most enjoyable trip to disney we have ever taken. My wife and I saw things we have never seen before and we were able to keep up with the children and grandchildren all day and every day. At night when the children wanted to go out, we were ready. now the first thing we do before booking flights and rooms, we book our two scootors for the disney vacation. Spencer Aucoin Family

Glad you can still enjoy Disney, this sounds a great idea.

My mum will be coming with us on our next trip and she will be 70 then, I will suggest it to her, then she can enjoy it as much as we will.

Thank you for your tip :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Why not just pick a meeting place every few hours instead of keeping up with the family or use cellphones

The biggest part of the fun is watching and interacting with the kids/grandkids as they experience the magic. It's the birth of a whole new generation of Disney lovers!

OP, I'm glad you found a way to keep the family together without getting worn out. :thumbsup2

I presume because they want to spend time together. After all, isn't this why we take family vacations -- to create enduring memories and to remind us of how precious time spent together really is.

Spencer Aucoin Family, I wish you many, many more years of magical vacations together....

We, too, have begun a family tradition of an annual visit to Disney World which encompasses my 83 year old mother down to my youngest grandchild who is now 6. There are a total of ten of us and we spend the entire day together and I've got to agree, watching both my children and grandchildren enjoying themselves is the best part of my trip. Fortunately, my husband and I are still able to walk and keep up. We always rent my mom a scooter which she is able to handle with no problem and keeps great gramma in with the action!
