Keeping Up With Availability

Hello everyone! I had a question that I am pretty sure I already know the answer to, but I just wanted to make sure and cover all bases. We are currently in the process of closing on our AKV resale contract. We passed ROFR and are scheduled to close in early December. We are planning to go for the first time on our points in May 2016. What I am wondering is, if there is any way to check on availability of DVC resorts in the mean time that do not require you to actually be an official member yet? I am just trying to plan a bit ahead because, that is just the way I am! Thank you!

Also going in May 2016 for BLT and would love to know availability. We are scheduled to close in the next week or so, so hopefully have our points by mid-october.

Unfortunately, you cannot access the availability tools on the website or otherwise until you're a member.

As availability is constantly in flux, as in, even from one minute to the next, it wouldn't be helpful at all if anyone who did have access looked it up for you, as anything showing available now may not be so by the following day.

We had seen availability disappear while we were booking the reservation so you won't know until you try.

Also we are approaching the 7 month window for may 2016 so once that happens avail will prob change significantly as people book non home resorts (and possibly cancel home resort reservations they made just in case)

The good news for the two of you looking for availability is that May tends to book up more slowly than most other months of the year. You may not get your first choice, but you should find something. Good luck with ROFR and closing!

If you could make the reservation 7 months out, you would likely find many things open including BLT lake view, BWV pool/garden, Poly, and AKV savanna and standard view. iF you are looking at only five months out, the choices will be more limited although still a good chance for AKV standard or savanna view and Poly, and an ooutside chance for BWV pool/garden and BLT lake view. Closer than 5 months out SSR and OKW should be open but others are more doubtful. The above assumes you will be seeking a studio or 2BR. If a 1BR, chances are even decent somewhat closer than 5 months out for those BWV, BLT and AKV views.

May is one of the best for availability. If you can book at 7 months, you will see many resorts are open.
