All right moms, i'm a mother of three and i have 20 minutes to get myself ready for the day, once ready, i don't have time to re-arrange, re-brush or re-apply anything.....help please with:

a foundation make up that covers well, doesn't run or disappear with sweat, doesn't look cakey on, doesn't settle into fine lines and DOES NOT COST A FORTUNE....

a hairspray that holds like concrete but doesn't build up like white paint in your hair, and DOES NOT COST A FORTUNE

a mascara that makes you have mile long lashes that doesn't run (btw, love that song, men and mascara always run, teehee) removes easily and DOESNT COST A FORTUNE

a self tanner that makes you look tan, sexy, hot, etc. that also looks real, doesn't run and lasts a while, when you are as white as Casper the Ghost...........

and again, DOES NOT COST A FORTUNE.........

thanks in advance!!!

I can't wait to find all of these miracle products.

I found a great hairspray. It is under $3 too! Garnier Fructis full control all day flexible hold strong. The only problem is that it is aerosole (I don't know how to spell that) and since we can't take it on-board I won't be able to take it. I am going to try the pump and see if it works as well. It seems to hold pretty strong without holding my hair in one giant hair helmet clump!

I could really use the mascara and foundation ideas though!

LOREAL' sublime is a great self tanner. They make a formula specifically for the face. If using a self tanner, I would just skip the foundation entirely.
I can't help w/ hairspray or mascara as I don't use either...I'm really lazy!

I have packed aerosol hairspray in my checked luggage and flown with it several times and never had a problem. The baggage area is pressurized as well (pets/animals fly down there too). I'd bring the one you like, personally.

I've been using the Kirkland/Borghese mascara from Costco and it works well. I do need eye makeup remover to get it off though. I just bought the foundation there but I haven't tried it yet. I did try a sample of the eye makeup and really really like it but I'm too frugal to buy it (waiting for my current stash to get too old or run out first). It's not cheap but regular Borghese is really expensive so the Kirkland line puts it in the affordable range.

I've been using the Suave Naturals hairspray and like it a lot.

As far as self tanners go, have you tried the moisturizers that have self tanners added. Jergens was the first one to come up with this, now Dove and some other brands sell it as well. I like it because it builds up slowly over about a week and you're less likely to get that streaky look you sometimes get with the regular self-tanners. Plus your hands don't turn orange from putting it on, lol.

hth.

Honestly--I just go bare...maybe start with a little something...but I really treat it like I'm going exercising or something.

My mother is constantly putting on full face...she uses "good stuff" and unfortunately on her..her face "melts" and it looks bad very quickly.

If your skin can handle it...try just moisturizer or even a tinted moisturizer--maybe a little lipstick, but leave the rest at home. If you really need the mascara--I would think any waterproof mascara would work. :) My Mary Kay stuff works nice. :)

great tips keep em comin!!!!!!!!!

I use bare minerals for foundation and it does not "run". I am not sure if you consider it expensive though. Some people do. To me, it is worth every penny!

I second the Bare Escentuals makeup, I've been a convert since earlier this year. I've received many compliments, not on my makeup, but people saying that I look really nice, or a I look so well-rested or things like that. No one ever said that to be before!

I don't do the hairspray route so I can't help you out there, but I love, love, love Avon's Wash-Off Waterproof Mascara and it is only $6.50 full price, but I usually get it for $2.99-3.99 on sale. Washes off with regular facial cleanser and gives me nice looking lashes, nothing that screams "mascara" like some do.

I tried the Jergens self-tanner but I didn't like the smell at all, so I've tried others as well. The Olay Touch of Sun lotion seemed to be the least offensive but I still can detect the scent.

HTH!

Bare Minerals Is Too Expensive And Doesn't Cover Freckles Well...

Hey! I use Covergirl CG Smoothers tinted moisturizer. It goes on easy and is very, very lightweight so it pretty good for the heat!

Hi tenia66.

I can't help you with the foundation but the rest I can help you with, and I bought it all at Wal-mart.

Hairspray, I've adopted the gold can of 'Freeze it' mega freeze for my long unruly thick curls during the summer. I used to use other brands but the yellow-jackets liked them too so now its this only. I usually only need to re-spray before dinner but unless your hair is really hard (it sort of looks like mine in the photo) to tame 1 application should be fine. Under $4.

For my stubby lashes I use Revlon 'Lash Fantasy'. It has 1 side as a primer which dries quickly and the other is mascara. It doesn't seem to flake and comes off with soap and water. (I know most women will cringe with this but my grandmother swore by soap & water and her skin was beautiful, I'm sticking with her advice). I guess it was around $5.

The tanner I have for our February trips was something I stumbled across a few years ago after paying $25 for a all-over body application of rapid tanner at my local Salon. After I left the place I stopped in my local Wal-mart and went through their tanners because I wasn't sure the application I had would last the entire trip. Well, wouldn't you know that 'Coppertone' Endless summer was EXACTLY the same thing, right down to its yucky smell. I could have kicked myself. I have a note on the back to rub lotion into my knees, elbows, knuckles & palms before putting this stuff on (words of wisdom from my $25 spray fest) which would prevent it from collecting in these spots. You might want to get a hand from someone you like ALOT to help you get it onto your back and then finish up alone. The line makes a body version and a face version but I use the body one everywhere since the salon didn't use anything different for my face than my body. Cost maybe $8 and it looks like I has about 4 applications worth.

I hope some of this is what you were looking for. Have a great time :thumbsup2

I love Sebastian Shaper Plus hairspray. It works great in the NC and Florida humidity! It is more expensive than some brands, but I only have to put it on in the morning and it holds all day.

I also love Cover Girl Great Lash waterproof mascara. It doesn't run, and it is inexpensive (less than $4, can get on sale for about $3). I am religious about throwing out mascara after three months, so I don't like to spend a lot!

I use Mary Kay medium coverage foundation, which works great for my combination skin. Friends who have dry skin love the full coverage foundation.

HTH!

I have to I guess be the 4th or 5th to say Bare Minerals Foundation hands down is the best. I have been using it for at least 6 years and have gotten many compliments on my skin. It also has a sunscreen of 15 so no need for that. If you are concerned about freckles or spots you can buy the extra brush called the "Kabuki" it is for a heavier coverage. The powder costs about $25 and with the brush I think it would be $35 but it will last forever, you need so little each time. Try QVC or Sephora.com.
Thats my tip, good luck with the rest.

IF you want your foundation to stay on ALL day, use Estee Lauder's Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup with an SPF 10. I have used Bare Minerals, but I have to reapply it about 3 times a day. Double Wear STAYS ON! It does cost about $30 bucks, but I would say I only buy 2 to 3 bottles a year.

I love Clairol's Herbal Essences MaxHold Hairspray. IT HOLDS!! It probably runs around $3.

I haven't found a good self tanner and could use some help myself with a mascara. Every mascara I have EVER used makes my eye lashes look like a tarantula!

Foundation: Mary Kay Medium Coverage foundation- I get mine on ebay at a big discount ;)

Self tanner- Dove lotion, the one with the subtle self tanners, I used this all summer and all you do is apply like lotion, and after a few days, and then a week, you're tan!

How does the Dove lotion smell, does it have that "tanner" smell to it? I haven't tried that one yet!

For summertime heat/humidity I use the same foundation that I usually use (covergirl) and mix it with a little bit of moisturizer in my hand before I put it on. It makes it light and even so it doesn't cake and it's comfy in the heat. I do tend to have dry skin, though, so this may not work well for you if your skin is oily.

I used to use Almay foundation and powder-I always like to do both because I have oily type skin and it always worked great-plus it's one of the few "cheaper" brands that is hypo-allergenic, fragrance free and all that good stuff. Now that i've got 3 kids, I just use a tinted moisturizer from Avon that I like a lot, but I think I need to start using powder again to give a little more of a finished look. The kids wear me out and I feel like I always look exhausted!
By the way, I use the Jergens self tan lotion and I'm very sensitive to smells and although it does have that yucky self tan smell a little bit, I find that once it dries the smell is very very faint, plus it works well.
