Hi all,
Anyone ever come up with a program (maybe in excel) to keep track of points and expiration dates??? We are trying to plan for a DEC 2002 vacation and looks like we can sneak in our previous years banked points two days prior to expiration and continue with current use year points, but this can get complicated and wanted to see if I was right with the math....thanx......................

This is a fantastic program! I've been using it for a couple of months now. I entered all my old data in it and it works like a charm!

I also keep my info on paper too since I am also a programmer :).

Can someone help explain how to use the DVC Point Manager Software I just downloaded ?? How
do you enter data in for stays at the other resorts ??

I'm pretty sure, if you look in the folder where you installed it, there is a "read me" file with some tips.

If you're taking about resorts beyond DVC, and tracking your point usage, you can do that. Just put the resort name in the description and the number of points you used to stay there. The program will do the math and update your running total.

If you are staying at a DVC resort, it does the point calculations for you.

But what if you do not know the points for all of the other resorts at Disney ?? I am quite
new to this and was playing around with the idea of entering other resorts in and the points
would be calculated for me like the 5 DVC Resorts.

Not sure you could do that, you may want to e-mail the author and ask him if it's possible.

As an alternative, if you follow Doc's link at the top to "DVC Frequently Asked Questions" you'll get to a site with a point calculator for all of the resorts - look to the left under DVC for Point Calculator.

Yes, it is possible to have the charts show up for all of the other DisneyWorld hotels, as well as the Disneyland resorts. But it takes a bit of work.

The DVCManager uses the files with the extention of ".POINTS" and this is where all of that information is stored. I simply typed into a text file all of the points for each resort, what room type, etc. and saved it with commas between each field. (You can open the file with NotePad and look at it, just be careful about changing anything in it.)

I thought I would only supply the DVC resorts, but if there is enough interest, I could sit down and try to hammer out the rest of the Disney offerings. (Or are there some brave souls out there who would like to volunteer??;)

I am interested very much so in a program that will allow me to look at all of the
Disney Resorts, not just the DVC Resorts, if possible - if you ever do complete such
a project, let me know.

can someone else check this program. unless i'm mistaken i don't think the points are correct. example is i put in for 3/28, 3/29, 3/30 etc and for weekdays it says 11 points and it should be 16 points. anybody know who i can e-mail to point this out or am i doing something wrong.

thank you.

Which hotel were you checking? And was it 2002?
I went thru it looking for 11 points per day and didn't see anything...?

it was march 28 - 31 and april 1 through the 4th and it was 2002. like i said maybe i'm doing something wrong. i don't know. thank you

I have 2 contracts and 1 is a resale with a different use year. It seems on the program that I should keep them separate, so I put one under a different property name. Is there a simple way I can change the property name on the top of the page? I tried to just type over it, of course that didn't work!
