Keeping track of credits

For the past few years, I have kept track of our credits using an index card and would mark out a spot every time we used one. It was a bit of a pain because I had to make sure I always had that card with me. So I asked my DH if he could write an app that would keep track of it (because I always have my phone). We have a lot of ideas for this app, but decided to start with a VERY basic tracking system (to see if anyone else would like to use it). It is completely FREE (and always will be) and I wanted to see if anyone else would be interested in trying and testing it for us. Right now it's for the iPhone/iPad only but if there is enough interest, he will write it for Android as well. The link is:

Well shoot! It requires ios 6, I have an older ipod touch so I cannot upgrade to ios 6, still stuck with ios 5 I really wanted to try it out. Oh well!

When you purchase any food item using your room key, any cast member will be able to tell you how many credits are remaining for your TS, QS, and snack credits.

This year, we're going with OOP dining cause FD didn't fit in with our dates ... maybe your hubby can make me an app so I can track how much $$ I spend at each meal/snack/drink/etc!!!! I hate having all those receipts at the end of the day!!!

I have always kept track on a small card or paper, I write down exactly where I used these credits and how much the "value" was based on oop price. (1) In case I have any issues to address later on credits and (2) So I can calculate in the end if my DDP was a value to me, maybe make adjustments next time on locations I use it at.

In looking it appears I am only going to input a number of credits I used without any notation - is that correct?

Sure seems easier and less work to me. Even just take a picture of the receipt and throw it out.

Same here. Every time I get a new receipt, I compare it to the one prior to make sure the credits were subtracted correctly and then I paperclip it to the others. I keep all of the receipts until the end of our trip just in case, that way I have proof of everything from day 1 should an error be made somewhere along the way .

So does Disney, with the MB and RFID and MDE. So I would think that they would build this an incoporate it into MDE. No need for a stand alone app-too much work.

I just used my iPhone notepad and kept a running total.

Grabbed this for our April trip, thanks! Nice to see it's available in other iTunes stores than just US, sometimes app makers forget to do that.

So far as feature suggestions go, I'd like to see accomodation for Advance Dinner Reservations. So beside the "Use" button would be an "ADRs" button. On an "ADR" screen, the user inputs the count of ADRs they have for Table Service or Counter Service (BOG Fastpass+). It could show the ADR counts below the others, say in gray font. This would be a good reminder of credits that aren't used yet, but should be considered when using credits.

On the "use credits" screen, there could be a checkbox under the "-/+" buttons with "ADR?" - if checked, it decrements the ADR count displayed on the front page in addition to the overall count of remaining credits.

This is what I do. I keep my receipts for the day in my wallet and at the end of the day I put them in an envelope in my luggage. I like to track to see if we really save on the dining plan or not.. So far we have broken even every time which is what I aim to do.
