I could use some suggestions, here, oh, great gardeners of the Dis!

Every year I plant bulbs. Of course, as time goes by, some beds need replenishment....bulbs get lost, die, get eaten....you know the drill. But some bulbs DO remain and bloom their lovely little heads off.

Here's my question.....

How do you remember which areas of your flower bed need bulb replenishment/replacement and which do not?????

I've tried putting drinking straws into the ground in the areas that have alot of bulbs. Halfway through the summer, they disappear. I guess the squirrels just love to play with them.

It would be prudent to draw a to scale drawing.....that's just not my style.

Does anyone have a sure fire, easy to remember and do, method for remembering where to plant new bulbs in an established bed???

I figured I'd better remember to ask now.....I think about it in September and then throw my hands up in despair!

:teeth:

I did this one year and it really worked. I chose one color of impatients and planted them over bulbs...i didnt use that color anywhere else, just over the bulbs! it could be zinnias, petunias...anything you choose..but only use one color for bulb finding.

Good luck.

Leave it to Vanessa. I was going to suggest popsicle sticks or even cheap plastic spoons. What a super idea.

I always said that Amid was one smart cookie! :D

Bloomin' brilliant, Bud!! :) :)

.....I would probably forget why I'd planted those flowers there though....
