Keeping the trip a secret

Hi all --

For the first time (in 3 trips) I am keeping the trip a secret from DS13 and DD16. This is rather a spur-of-the-moment, short (2 full days) trip over President's weekend (I know, busy time!). I'll pack them myself and try to get them to the airport with out suspecting -- I'll tell them I'm traveling for work, which I frequently do, and I and Dad need them to come with to the airport.

Anyone have any stories of surprise trips that they'd like to share? With younger kids or older kids?

But, I love that even at 13 and 16 you are still keeping the magic alive.

We were going to try but couldn't wait any longer to tell them. We are are going in April. Pretty sad huh?
