We are booked on the 7 night British Isles cruise Sept 2019. We then take the 11 night WBTA cruise to NY. If we have the same cabin for both cruises will we still have to pack up, get off the ship, re board the ship then re unpack our luggage? Or can we leave our luggage in the cabin? Do we have to go through security again? Thanks for any help!

No need to pack your things if you have the same room. You will have to get off the ship and recheck in. You will be the first to board.

For our 4/3 night B2B on the Dream we just left things in the room and had to disembark, go through US Customs then back upstairs to check in for the second cruise. Waited until the ship was cleared for boarding then the B2B cruisers were the first back on board. You could go directly to your stateroom and not have to wait until the rest of the rooms were ready around 1:30.

I thought I had read somewhere that for at least some B2B in a non-US port people weren't requireed to disembark, but that could just be my old, faulty memory.

Legally, if the turn around port is a US port the ship has to "zero out". So everyone is required to debark.

In non-US port you may be required to debark or not, depends on the port.

Our Med/TA B2B (Barcelona) we had to get off. But I think it was mostly because there were a large group of B2B people on that one. And the Guest Services desk wouldn't be able to handle them all in a timely manner. Most of the time I've read that (with smaller numbers) people were allowed to just check in again at Guest Services.

Our Fantasy B2B (Port Canaveral) we had to get off. And we were required to wait about 2 hours before we could board again. Just before Concierge. We were not allowed access to our rooms prior to 1:30 (along with everyone else).

We are also sailing the Sept 2 British Isles. I was trying to convince hubby to stay on for the 11 night Transatlantic. I got a big fat no!
We just came off of 13 nights yesterday and he said that was long enough, and that couldn't take all that time from work at once :(.
But we did do a B2B for the first time. Of course the first time we do one, it goes less then smoothly.
1. We didn't receive a letter the night before as we were told we would. So at about 10 pm we went down to Guest Services and talked to someone and he said, "wow a lot of people are not getting their letters tonight". Great, just our luck. He tells us to meet at D Lounge at 9:30am and we will get instructions.
There were probably 50 people doing a B2B this go around.
2. They come into D Lounge at 9:30 and take our Keys to the World Cards and say they will swipe us all off and as soon as all other guests debark they will bring us down and then bring us right back up. Well there were some slow moving guests, it was way after 10am before they had everyone off the ship. I think they announced final debarkation at least 3 times over the loud speaker. They finally bring us down and we are at the check in counter and yes of course, the computers go down.......UGH again just our luck. We all stood around for at least 45 minutes before the computers went up and we all were set up for the next cruise. I am sure the people waiting outside to get into the port were less than thrilled, because they weren't allowed in till we were taken care of.
By the time we were back on the ship, it was less than an hour before new guests started arriving and the ship was bouncing again.

ETA: We had the same cabin, we didn't have to take anything out, it was great!
We went in and out once before 1:30, but we made sure there were no other passengers around when we did it.
