How do you stay connected to the Disney magic when you are not at WDW? I have a few videos on my ipod that I got off the DIS podcast. Tonight I watched Wishes, went for a ride on Kilimajaro Safari, and toured Epcot during the Flower and Garden Festival...all from my couch. Of course, I also love to look at my scrapbooks of past trips.
What do you do?

I spend way to much time on here.:lmao: I also watch videos on youtube & I always play my Disney CD's in the car. We talk Dinsey all of the time so it's normally talked about everyday in my home.;)

Here is what I do:

* Read up on the DIS daily
* plan a trip...really helps to have trip planned so you can:
* make autograph books
* make Epcot Passports
* make invitations for ADRs
* make fun T-Shirts
* make a photo-book of previous trip
* make slide show of previous trips
* read guide books

I love the video Ipod idea!

Of course, in order to work in some balance in your life, sometimes you need to unplug for a bit too and work on projects at home....so you are better organized to go to Disney of course!!

how do you get those videos on the ipod? dh got me an iphone (he obviously doesn't realize i'm technologically incompetent!).

i recently found the disboards and i love it! i watch that disney on demand channel even though i've seen all those little episodes a million times! i also scope out the disney-themes shows on the travel channel and food network.

i plan trips in my head all the time and lately my new thing has been searching for disney clothing/accessories for my son like this gem:

You can subscribe to the DIS podcast through iTunes (podcasts are free!). Then when you sync your iphone it will upload. You'll find them under "extras". At least that's how it works with my ipod classic.

I made a point to take lots of video on our last trip. The kids and I can watch those and be entertained for hours!! I listen to DTunesLive for park music, attraction audio, parades, etc.

I also start YouTubing when I'm in the home stretch before a trip and don't think I can take it anymore!! :laughing:

We bought one of the Disney cookbooks and often make some of our favourite dishes from WDW and DCL. Last night we had the cheese soup from Le Cellier and homemade pretzles and tomorrow we will have the cheese bread from the Yatch Club. Palo's chocolate soufle is always a big hit too:)

I would love to have the recipe for the cheese soup and pretzel bread. I miss those.

Where can you buy those cook books. I would love to get my hands on one for Disneyland/DCA

We have dvds from the Disneyland from the 50th anniversary and one from Holiday time as well. I watch those weekly at least. I still get teary watching the fireworks. I have the Disneyland parks soundtrack and listen to that cd in the car. Im a DIS freak and check daily, and look at pictures and read trip reports.

I have often said to people that Disney should have another channel called Disney Travel and have shows and live feed from all the Disney parks all over the world and different things featured at them. I would probably watch that 24/7 if I could.

That is so funny; I'm just checking this thread and we had the Le Cellier soup tonight- Yum; it's especially good w/ Guiness, if I do say so myself:rolleyes1

I was going to say we actually have Disney Dinner every Saturday night- at least when we're planning a trip. There's at least something on the menu from Disney- either one of my cookbooks, or another Disney recipe I found on the Dis, etc. We sometimes make a night of it with a Disney movie (tonight was UP) or Disney Scene it, or the Magic Kingdom game, or Disney Trivia, or Disney Uno... I'm thinking you probably get the drift by now.

I also love to sew clothes for our trips and for kids going on make a wish trips; and like y'all I have all the Disney CD's on my ipod, along with the full season of Disney. DD has to be in the hospital a lot, and the staff know that if there's any kind of procedure, DD will be watching either Disneys Royal Treatment or AK; they ask which one now beforehand.

We also look for hidden mickeys everywhere! And we reminisce about previous trips, watch videos on you tube (the wolfs dance orlando is the current fave- my kids have watched it/danced to it literally over 200 times.)

Sure, you could say we're obsessed...but at least here we know we're not alone;)

Oh I would so love that!!! Do you have the singalong songs Disneyland fun? It's a little older, but my kids absolutely love it! And wouldn't you love to see specials from Tokyo and Paris, etc. That would be Awesome! re: the cookbooks; I think some of the online retailers get them, but I've gotten my two at WDW. I'm surprised you haven't seen them at Disneyland though because they have recipes from WDW, Disneyland, and the cruise line. If you can't find one out there, I guess you just might have to see if some wonderful individual who shall remain nameless could maybe pick one up in June and send it to ya (wink wink) LOL.

I keep myself pretty busy in my life, but when I do start to miss disney I start planning my next trip. I always find it fun to start figuring out where I want to eat and what my must do's are. Looking at pictures also helps me feel the disney magic. My house is also filled with items we purchesed in disney, so everytime I go to use something bought in disney I feel the magic.:wizard:

I actually don't have the recipe for Le Cellier's pretzle bread, but we find a basic pretzle recipe works pretty well (mine is from King Aurthor).

If I get really energetic later in the week I will try to type out the soup recipe for you. Cheese soup and pretzle bread is DD's all time favourite meal.

I bought all of mine at various places at WDW--except one which was a gift from a friend who had it signed by a bunch of characters too(and is my favourite) but I know it is available all over WDW and also on the cruise (probably DL as well). The best (in my opinion) is Cooking With Mickey and the Disney Chefs.

In addition to playing games like "I Spy" or "20 Questions", we play a game to name that Disney thing? DDs can pick from characters, movies, or places at WDW.
