Keeping the kids up late?

I have a daughter who just turned 5 a couple days ago and an almost 2 year old. They usually have bedtime around 7 for the younger & 8 for the older.

I used to really be against "older" kids on strollers, but I've learned to get a double stroller at Disney b/c in order for us to be able to see all the things we want to see, my older daughter needs to ride or she gets too tired.

We also alternate early nights & late nights. Last night we saw WoC & got back to the room around 11pm. The baby was asleep in the Ergo starting around 9 & her sister crashed in the stroller during the ride back to the room.
Tonight is an early night, with both kids asleep at their usual bedtimes.

My spouse & I switch off on early bedtime nights, so one of us stays with the kids while the other goes to the parks or out for shopping, drinks, what ever.

We also usually take an afternoon break from the parks, since our kids are up at dawn & we're at the gate early. We go back to the room for lunch, quiet play, maybe swim & maybe a nap for the baby. Some days we skip this, depends on everyone's crankiness level. I think my spouse needs this break, even more than the kids!

Just play it by ear& see how your kids do. Ours tend to be very adaptable & go with the flow. Other kids really need the consistency of their usual schedule.

Good luck & have fun!
