Keeping the kids dry and happy in rain

last year we went to mnsshp the night before a 7 day fantasy cruise. It teemed rain. Our kids were miserable and drenched. We are heading down next week, and we know to expect rain again.

I would love tips on how you keep everyone dry and happy. Extra shoes? Poncho vs umbrella?

Aww man, my kids LOVE when it rains. They jump in the puddles and get soaking wet and it drives me mad!

However, we do bring ponchos. And we all wear Keens' which dry super quick.

Ponchos. Ponchos for adults, kids and even strollers (if you have one). Honestly my DD loves to splash in the rain when we go. As long as it's not too cold or lightening we splash a bit as we go from place to place. Or there are always stores to wait out the rain in or an indoor attraction.

Usually when we go it rains every day for a little bit and we just bring ponchos. We buy cheap ones before we go and throw them out if they get used.

Definitely get the Keens or Keen-type waterproof sandals because they are comfy and dry fast. Kid size ponchos for sure, and perhaps a baseball hat.

Kids like the rain a lot more than adults!

Quality ponchos, and water proof shoes. I've actually also found that bringing a small umbrella with me seems to decrease the chances of rain in the forecast. No joke!

Also consider packing a small towel or two in a zip lock bag so you can dry off if it stops raining.

I feel ya - our only trip to Disneyland it rained for 3/4 of the day. I was crying!

But in WDW we pack extra socks and t-shirts just in case. We duck into indoor areas to wait it out. Good thing is - in Florida the rain doesn't last long!
