Keeping kids busy in line.

Please, please, do not blow bubbles in line! People who do not like them are trapped and can't get away from them! Bubbles are not camera friendly, nor are they I-Pad friendly. They can also stain clothes, and some people are very allergic to the solution.

Not to mention, a little one can try and chase a bubble and end up falling down, or tripping on a queue chain, or running into other guests. And if the solution gets on the ground it is very slippery!

Please, no bubbles in line!!!

This please! You can usually avoid them around the park if you want but you are trapped in line.

Cat's cradle....I did this with my daughter in lines when she was young. (they now sell it as a game with the instruction booklet) when I was a kid we used string.....

I'm allergic to certain things, and if I come into contact with those things, the rash can last for weeks.

Honestly never knew of this. Obviously we would never have done it if we would have known bubbles were so offensive. We did it out in the open parts of the line. Once we were inside we let the Disney magic of the surrounding atmosphere take us.

It kind of breaks my heart a little that a fun memory was frowned upon.

Hey, it sounds as if you did no harm, so don't worry about it! Just please keep your future bubble blowing to wide open spaces, where people can avoid them if they need to.

one of my favorite things is getting the little books of disney trivia or the hidden mickeys and read the ones about the ride or show we're going on.

That's a great idea, I'll have to get a few ebooks on this before we go.

My kids are cat's cradle fiends, so that's pretty much my front line of defense. (Seriously, my eldest daughter got sick of asking us to play cat's cradle with her and figured out how to play versus herself. Using her feet.) There are also glow in the dark ones.

We do a lot of hand games, the sort of thing you'd learn at summer camp. Miss Mary Mack and Down By The Banks of the Hanky Panky. Not a whole wait through, but right before they start to go off the deep end, so it's a nice reset. My husband knows a lot of basic magic tricks so he's pulled those out to entertain the kids in an emergency (and often ends up entertaining more than our brood... especially when he messes up a trick ).

Basically, we try to learn a few 'how to entertain ourselves' skills ahead of time and they pay off. Heck, I still know how to make balloon animals from a high school summer job, but I don't want to be mistaken for a Cast Member.
