I booked a 3 night on the Dream for my wife and two girls a couple of weeks ago for mid October.
I am hoping to keep this a secret, even from my wife.
The plan is to pack their stuff thinking they are going to stay at a hotel near the beach for four days.
I used the Disney cruise website to book the cruise.
Now I am worried that Disney cruise will mail an info package or something with Disney cruise line written all over the letter.
My wife usually gets the mail first as I am at work and she works from home.
Does Disney send out paper tickets or a receipt or anything prior to the cruise?
If they do any suggestions as to what to say? It is a special occasion and I think she will know right away what is going on if she sees anything from a cruise line.
In other words I can't just say oh honey I just sent out for some information. She will know that four day "hotel stay" is in fact a cruise.

Thanks

Yes, they will send out a booklet with all you cruise info and luggage tags. We just got ours this week and our cruise is the end of August.

Is there any way to charge the mailing address on your account to a family or friends house who could keep it a secret for you?

DCL does send out the booklet which contains your luggage tags, info on your itinerary, and various legal jargon...its pretty thick too...image.jpeg image.jpeg

How sweet! Use your work address as your mailing address in DCL's system, so the information packet & luggage tags won't be mailed to your house. Tell the DCL agent on the phone why you're doing this, to verify that there won't be any problem with it.

I took my wife on a cruise for her 60th birthday. She know that the two of us were going on the cruise. She didn't know that I had booked the Walt suite, or that all of our kids and grandkids were coming as well (15 of us in total). The grandkids (ages 12 weeks to 6) weren't told either so they wouldn't accidentally say something to grandma. I had our TA send our documents to our oldest daughter's house, since she live near us. She found out about the others when we got to the concierge checkin area at the port. She didn't find out about the suite until we got to the room and one of my daughters told her to read the sign on the door. It was very difficult keeping this secret for that long, and two of my daughters made it questionable whether their families would even be able to cruise. One had a daughter just over 12 weeks before the cruise (cruise was booked before the minimum age was raised) and one of her sisters was just less that 24 weeks pregnant.

My wife and I drove down to Miami from Virginia and everyone else flew in. DCL and port employees didn't make it easy either. Our son was booked in the Walt suite with us, and when we got to the port, they started to ask where he was. My daughters had made shirts for everyone to wear for embarkation. My wife's said "I'm sailing away for my birthday", mine was "I'm sailing away for my wife's birthday", etc. When we went through security at the port, one of the employees said something about seeing a lot of those shirts. Fortunately, my wife just took that to mean that a lot of people wear matching shirts.

Sending it to the work address is a good suggestion. If that's not possible or you think work may lose it maybe sending it to a friend or neighbors house with their ok may work?

My parents did this last time I cruised. I basically knew nothing. When they told me we were really going, I was shocked. They even showed me the documents too

I wouldn't even begin to presume I knew what to pack for my wife......

Yes, if she gets the mail, the show is over. Send it to work or a friend, or, if all else fails, get a P.O. Box for the shortest period possible. I can't remember if they do single months or if you must pay for at least three months at a time. It's pretty cheap either way, especially in relation to the overall cost of the cruise.
