Keeping Cool

I'm worried about being uncomfortable camping the last weekend in june. We are tent camping. I have tent camped alot but out in the desert, I tent camped in NJ for the first time since i was a child last summer. I was actually shocked I got eaten alive didn't even think about it, not alot of mosquitoes in AZ. :lmao: DH was like what did you expect? Bug spray. Check. Got that covered.

But what about keeping cool at night? We are flying down with the camping equipment so an air conditioner is out of the question. I have a smallish Coleman ceiling fan for the tent, honestly does not do much. Its more for air circulation than cooling. I'm afraid its not going to cut it this trip. I have seen slightly bigger coleman window fans. I am hesitant about using these because I'm afraid of damaging my tent (it's my baby). I would leave the fly off, but it does tend to rain in FL. Any suggestions? Like I said I'm worried mostly about night, my being cranky in the park cause its humid is a different story.

Bean << wondering why Star Wars Weekends couldn't be held in November :(

Sorry, in June its going to be hot. I have seen portable stand up A/C units at Sams Club last year, they did not look very heavy. Maybe you could bring along something like that on the plane.

 We have a small Vornado fan which puts out alot of air. We put it outside last July and it did make the heat more bearable. At night, the temp will drop some so it might really help inside a tent.:flower3:

I going have to agree with becky1960...It's June, It's Florida, It humid and it is going to be HOT! Sorry to say night time is not always going to be much relief. I know that you've heard it a million times about the Arizona Dry heat and Florida Humid heat being different but it is the truth. Humity can make the heat more misable. However, the comfort stations have AC and you can always use the pool. But for trip to Disney, I could stand the heat.

Yea i figured. I was just hoping someone had the miracle answer. :rotfl:

Wal-Mart sales small window units for around $100 bucks buy it and when its time to go home leave it there. Maybe you could start a A/C swap for people staying in tents that fly. Also buy you a dryer vent hose or something similar and a roll of duck tape. Tape the hose to the A/C vent then pipe the A/C into the tent. Buy the hose where you live so you wont have to hunt for much while on vacation. :thumbsup2

It will be hot! One time when we were there in early June and it was hot we took advantage of the pool we woke up sweating in the middle of the night and we decided to hit the pool. It was so wonderful to cool off! We had fans going but they did not cool us off like getting in the pool.
