Keeping baby dry?

We're headed to the World on Thursday. Whether it's from Hanna or Ike (or both), we're going to get wet. But we're trying to make the best of it. DD 7 and DS 4 have raincoats, which will work much better for them than ponchos. DH and I have ponchos (and I'm picking up a few more before we leave). What would be the best way to keep DS 5 mo. dry? I know we can try and put a poncho over the stroller, and I've got clothespins on my shopping list so that we can do that. But is there a better way? At first I thought about putting him in the front carrier, thinking it'd be a better way to keep him dry. But the question of how he would be able to breathe under the ponchos kind of ruined that idea (WHAT was I thinking????):sad2: Anyway, anyone out there have any great ideas??? Thanks in advance!

I know there are specific rain covers for strollers that are vented. These may work better for a 5 month old vs the poncho and clothes pins. Have fun and try to stay dry!

Yup! I would invest in a rain cover for your stroller. My Chicco came with one (if Grandma can find the darn thing!!!) but I will be buying one for the Baby Trend I got off of craigslist. I'll probably just get a cheap one since we're not keeping the stroller after Disney. I did see a nice Protect-a-bub rain cover that got good reviews on both Amazon and Target.com. Both places would need to ship that though. I'd probably just head to babies R us and pick one up.

Hope you have a magical trip with no waits in line!

ABSOLUTELY get a rain cover for your stroller!!! I had one for my double stroller and it kept my 21 mo old and my 5 year old dry. Buy yourself and your hubby rain coats too....I was there for TS Faye and the ponchos blow everywhere and you end up getting wet anyways. Ponchos do not work!!! My lesson learned is if your gonna be there during a lot of rain....buy a rain suit!! YOu can get them at walmart in the camping section. They have some that are light weight pants and a good jacket. then you will stay dry. then if it stops raining, you can always take them off and fold them small.....Just my lesson learned and I want to pass it around to others.

Thanks for all the advice. You'd think that by my third child, I'd know all the little goodies that they have for sale, but I didn't know about this one! Thankfully, we have a Babies R Us in town - we leave Thursday! I now own a stroller cover!!

Absolutely get a stroller rain cover..Babies R Us has inexpensive one's! DD was dry and could see all last year when we went, and it rained a few times. I was surprised at how many times I was stopped and asked where I had gotten the cover... People use these all the time in NY even in the winter to keep out the cold winds.

Glad you were able to get one before your trip. I know you will have a wonderful time despite any rains! Hope to see you there!
