I am frugal and like to save where I can. However, when on vacation, I do not want to worry about. We don't go crazy, but if I spend an extra $500 I worry about it later. The reason is I would spend that $500 somewhere else anyway and I am only on vacation a few times a year.

You can do it at disneygiftcards.com. Just click on "manage cards" and then choose "transfer balance". When I did it, I put a mark on the physical card that I transferred the balances to and then rubber banded the other cards to that one after the transfers were complete (until I was ready to use the card with the large balance). I know there's a limit as to how much you can put on one card...maybe $1,000?
This is why I use gift cards. I buy Disney gift cards at Target and get them at a discount with my Redcard. Then I consolidate them on the gift card website. Then I use the gift card rather than charging things to my room. I know exactly what I have spent because I get a receipt with the remaining balance on my gift card. Yes, it's a little less convenient, but I have already budgeted and paid for my GC and so there are no surprises!
We also do GCs but still would rather charge to the room and I will stop by the desk every few days to pay off the balance and get a printout, its never really out of my way. This way DW does not need her own GC and we do not have to worry about keeping the last receipt with the GC to know the remaining balance.
Actually I meant that charging to magic bands & reviewing the printed folio once a day is not easier than using a gift card.In your own words, you said it's less convenient. But if it works for you, that's terrific.
When paying with a GC, you see the charge immediately, right then & there on your receipt when you make the transaction. No issues there. Why not review it at the end if you're worried about errors?
If they charge your card for something you didn't spend on a decent credit card (all bets off with GC), minimally you can dispute the transaction. Your card company may or may not charge back Disney, but you don't have liability for transactions you didn't make.

I'm still struggling to see how using a credit card isn't as good. If you don't like using the magic band, why not use a credit card that gives points instead of using a gift card?
With my card I get 3 points valued at 2.1¢ each, for 6.3¢ savings per dollar. Disney gift cards do not have the enhanced liability protection you can get from a good quality credit card. If for example you put a tip on the account but it later shows up incorrectly, you can just dispute the charge and you won't be asked to pay it.
I'm not knocking anyone who wants to use a gift card, but I can't see any advantage over a credit card.
Rather than juggling gift cards for every single one of your purchases, wouldn't it be easier just to use your magic band and review your single, printed folio once a day? Nothing prevents you from paying your folio down with gift cards. Nothing prevents a wonky charge happening either, no matter what method you use to pay for it. But it's a lot easier to get your folio credited for a wonky charge then it is for a one-off purchase to be made whole--because your folio can be adjusted at the front desk. Your one-off purchase can't necessarily.
