Keeping 2 year old happy

Thank you so much for all the advice got some little things now but will keep looking for more. Didn't think the food would be suitable so will definitly pack some snacks.

We went last year when my youngest DS was 18 months. I also had my other DS who was 4 and my DD who was 3. :scared1:
We had plenty of thing to entertain them. Old favourite toys for comfort and a selection of new stuff like books, colouring and small toys are a must. My older two had their own backpacks with their stuff and I had to put the stuff for DS2 in mine. He particularly liked those slot in puzzles. Plenty of snacks and drinks too.
Oh make sure you have nappy sacks. Not a good place for smelly bums!:rotfl:
We brought things out for them at intervals and it seemed to work well. The only problem was he refused to go to DH AT ALL and I had him for hours and hours and hours...........
If they have a favourite song it can help to sing it too. We rowed the boat back across the Atlantic I think!
If I think of anything else I'll let you know

Oh I remember getting these Disney magic colouring sets in Publix for about $3. The pen is clear and colour appears on the page so no probs on plane. I got the boys Cars and DD Little Mermaid. We were still using them when we went to Disneyland Paris in February!

Happy travelling!

having taken DS to florida at 5 mnths (bliss - he slept), 23 months and 35 months my best advice would be not to get stressed and not to worry what anyone else may be thinking. Also dont fall out with your partner as arguing over whose turn it is to look after them will only make situation worse (been there done that)!!!!

we were lucky the last time as we had a lovely couple by us (of grand parents age) who entertained DS for hours.

obviously all the little toys etc that eveyone else has mentioned, we also take play dough.

it is true that the nine hours will pass a lot quicker than you think

the youngest my daughter was when we took her was 22months and the best thing i did was to pay for her own seat. She was given her own seat with an insert which also had a 5 piece harness when she was strapped in she knew she had to stay put. she just enjoyed pulling the window blind up and down. Also took all of the little toys mentioned above and also lots of her favourite story books. I would also buy some juice after going through security as there is not a lot on offer if they don't do fizzy juice. It' usually water but that can get a bit boring.
On our return flight she was getting very tired but likes a cup of milk before sleeping. The flight attendant filled her cup up and just said come back for more if you need it. Never really thought of asking for milk before as just thought they only had the long life little things for the tea.
