Keeping 2 adr's?

Here's the deal. I am starting to second guess my vacation plans. We had 2 days at MK, 2 days at Epcot, and 2 days at DHS. I made ADR's for each day we are in the parks. I am starting to second guess my 2nd day at DHS because I'm afraid my littler kids won't have enough to do there for 2 full days.

I started to think we needed only 1 day at DHS and 1 day at AK (even though AK wasn't that exciting the first time we went it's still different than DHS if they don't want to go a second day).

Long story short I've got an ADR at 50's prime time at 5:20 AND and ADR at Rainforest Cafe at 4:15. Since they didn't really conflict I didn't have to cancel my first one. Has anyone ever kept both ADR's just in case you pick one park over the other and cancelled a day or so in advance?

I would do 2 at Mk, 2 at Epcot, and 1 day each at DHS and AK, so cancel the 50's Prime Time.

How old are your kids?

First WDW trip we took, DD was 6. She loved AK--it was her favorite park. I was not a fan. However, the second trip we took, I enjoyed it so much more. Now, 12 years later, I still like going to AK.

I'd probably do a day there and a day at DHS is your kids are young. I love DHS and, at 6, DD loved ToT and RnR.

We also took a day off from the parks and did a water park day. One trip we did 2 days of water parks because they were just that much fun!

They now charge $10 per person for ADR no-shows (without canceling 48 hours prior) at WDW restaurants. Not sure if that applies to RFC though.

What is your ADR for the other day at DHS because I would so pick Prime Time over Rainforest. Aslo the rainforest at AK has an outside enterance so you you dont have to be in the park to go there.

You have to cancel by 10pm the night before, otherwise you're charged the $10

This is not the case for all WDW restaurants. There are only 19 that follow this policy, plus four that are prepaid (CRT and the three dinner shows). 50s Prime Time and RFC are not on the list. There is a current list in a sticky thread on the reservations board, where I am moving this.

And if you have a reservation at one of those 19 restaurants, you must cancel it by the day before (not 48 hours) to avoid the no-show fee.

I would not hold onto two reservations in case they cancel both.
