I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that you should hang on to your reciepts if you are on the dining plan. My credits were messed up twice and I had to present the receipts from the restaurants in order to have it fixed.
We had the same issue last year with credits being messed up.
We went to eat at the Earl of Sandwich on our second to last day and when we went to pay with the dining plan, we were told that we had no CS credits left. Needless to say I was surprised as I was sure we had one left for each person. Instead of holding up the line and arguing, I decided to just pay OOP for the meal and call Disney afterwords. What we found out is that one CS place we ate at several days before had actually charged us 2 CS credits per person when they should have only charged us 1. Disney instantly refunded us 1 CS credit per person with apologies. We used those last CS credits on our last day ( which I had planned to pay OOP for anyway ) so it all worked out. No one at Disney asked to see receipts though, they could see the problem in their system and corrected it.
oooh. Thanks for this warning. I hadn't thought about that! This will be the first time for us to use the DDP. I will make a note to keep all receipts!!
Thanks!
Thanks for the "heads up". We did not have any problems last year, but never know. We normally keep all the receipts from the trip anyways and tally up what we spent. Especially with the dining plan it's great to see what we have saved!

Receipts from the DDP will show $0 for everything. With a TS, you have a few minutes between when they present you the bill and when they take your card to make note of how much the meal was worth. With a CS, you need to look quickly at the register total before they swipe your card. For a snack from a cart, you just need to figure it out from the menu, because you can't see the display on the little handheld they use.
I started to write this amount on each receipt to be able to tally up the savings, but forgot to pack a pen one day and never got back into the habbit.
Thanks for the heads up! I always keep mine to tally up total and for a souveneir (still have last yrs DDP receipts) but I will be sure to tell the second family traveling with us..
It's also a good idea to keep your receipts so you can total your savings!
Last January, we paid about $580 for family of four for 6 days on DDP. Our receipts totalled over $1200 including snacks! That my Dis friends is a great deal!
Also, last year the receipts had how many credits you had left on the bottom of them. Not sure if they are still doing that but I was looking at mine the other day and saw it.
We had a similar problem in May 2005 with TS credits but fortunately the front desk at Poly cleared it up immediately w/o haveing to track down receipts
It's a good idea, I keep them to keep track of credits but when we have a ts and bad service it has the waiter/waitresses name on the receipt also and also when you get a good one it helps to praise them when you get back home.
We were on DDP in July and had the same thing happen. We were charged 2 TS meals for breakfast in Epcot. I questioned the CM who did the transaction, but ended up having to go to customer service and call our resort to have it fixed. It is a great idea to keep the receipt.

They will show you the number of credits remaining for that particular type of credit. For example, if you used a TS credit, they will show you how many TS credits you have left (but not CS or snacks at that time.) If you buy a snack later, the receipt will show you how many snack credits you have left.
At any time, your resort can print out a listing of your credits (snack, counter and TS). It will show exactly where all of your credits were used up to that point and how many you have left. We found this extremely useful.
We never had a problem with them taking away too many credits -- only not taking away enough. Imagine that!

My sis had the same thing happen with snack credits. I don't think the CM really knew what she was doing when she rung it up. Unfortunately, she got mine right!
