and throw a little pixie dust too if you please
I am hoping for DH's sake that he will get to see the Shuttle launch and it will not be postponed or scrubbed next week.
Our first ever trip to WDW was not a happy one
DH back in 1984 worked for a firm, who had an astronaut for a client. DH has all his life been a fan of the space program. He was invited to be a guest of this astronaut to her shuttle launch in Feb of 84. This was pre-Challenger, where guests sat at special bleachers with the families for the launch and went to a special dinner the night before- the works.
Well, the launch was postponed for two weeks one day before the day it was to launch and there was no way we could afford to come back for the new date.
We went to WDW instead, but you never saw a sadder group than we were. This was my DH's fondest wish crushed. He was so close......yet so far way.
I'm suprised he still likes going to WDW now..
Anyway (still with me?)
We had planned this trip to WDW for Jan 11th to the 17th last year. Last month I thought to check the KSC website to see if there were any launches for January.
Sure enough, there is one on the 16th! So I check and see they have a pkg you can buy to have breakfast with an astronaut the morning of the launch, then take a shuttle bus to the onsite viewing area to see the launch. It is pricey and there is no refund if it gets delayed, etc. But I decide to take the gamble and get tickets for DH and I.
I suprised him with them on Christmas eve. He was speechless!
He is now so excited, although we both know things could trun out just like 1984 again.
So far the weather looks good. I just hope we finally get to see a launch
