Keep wondering if I should cancel Hollywood and Vine??

If you've never tried it I would keep the reservation and have a great time. You are at Disney so enjoy every minute. We have never had a bad meal at any of the buffet type settings and always enjoy the characters. They spend more time with you then when we do the meet and greets in the park. Have a great time!

Sophia and Doc can be seen elsewhere at HS.
Jake and Handy Manny can only be seen at Hollywood and Vine for breakfast.

Jake can also be seen in Animation Courtyard along with Sophia and Doc.

We had lunch at H&V last year. We also booked it for the Fantasmic package. We had no expectations going in, but it was one of our best meals. We were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed it more then all of the restaurants on your list, except for the Boathouse and Kona which we have not tried yet.

Good to hear! I guess we will give it a try. My granddaughter loves all of the characters there.

Thanks! We went there twice years ago when my kids were young and were not impressed. We will give it another try since my granddaughter will love seeing the Disney Jr characters.

As others have said, they are switching lunch to Minnie and Friends (dinner is already Minnie and Friends). However, I believe the switch is in September (forget the exact date). If you are going prior to then, lunch would be Disney Jr.

Does your 4 yr old want to do Jedi training? If so, a PPO ADR at H&V gives you early access to Jedi sign ups.

We are going for breakfast in October. She is not into the Jedi training at all. She does want to watch Star Wars and Avatar before we go.

We had H&V breakfast. It was just okay. The character interaction was good.

I mean how bad can they screw up breakfast? It is more about the characters. We are on the dining plan so it won't hurt as much to spend the money on a not so great breakfast

We ate there last year for our DDs birthday with 4 of her friends. We went because she loves Minnie. We had read all the bad reviews as well and didn't expect much. We all really enjoyed it. We had an issue with the time we booked (our fault) and the manager was lovely and allowed us to come back later. It was not as crowded with the seating as Chef Mickeys. I wouldn't cancel it. Enjoy!

I have always bashed H&V, after a couple of really bad meals. As many have said before, the only thing consistent about dining at WDW is the inconsistency. My advise always is go and enjoy, you might like and you might not, but you can say that about any restaurant there. You have to draw your own conclusions. I hope your meal is great.[/

That is a lot of sit downs. I hope the op's trip is 11 days so it's one per day or that 4 year old might get cranky. Especially since little kids often don't eat at character meals (or it becomes a difficult time getting them to eat, which makes grownups cranky).

Our one breakfast years ago at H&V was fine for food but the characters were meh.

Yes, we are there for 10 days. We scheduled one character meal per day with the exception of 10/30 when we have Garden Grill Breakfast at 8:50 and Akershus dinner at 7:05, and 11/2 we have Tusker House at 10:10 am and Boathouse at 8 pm. That way we have plenty of time to head back to the resort for a break if we want to. We go out to eat pretty frequently and she is really well behaved in restaurants and loves to eat so I think we will be fine.
