I had 10 points in my account. I had a reservation for a studio at OKW for Oct. 17 and I was on a wait list for BCV studio for Oct. 17. This morning I checked the vacation summary and I had 6 total points and 4 points available to bank. So I knew I had gotten the BCV waitlist. But I couldn't figure out why there were two points that could not be banked. MS said since OKW had been cancelled within 30 days the 8 pts. had gone into holding. This mystified me since I needed 12 pts. for BCV so figured when OKW was cancelled they would immediately use those 8 points and then add 4 to make the 12 pts needed for BCV leaving me with 6 bankable points. MS said it appeared they had put 8 points in holding. Then they took 10 points from another contract (all BWV Oct. UY), 2 points from OKW holding acct. and left 2 points in holding. So I had the correct 6 points left but of the 6 two were in holding from the cancellation of the OKW studio within 30 days. MS corrected this by overriding the allocation and it was only 2 points. But this might happen on other wait lists that are done within 30 days with more than 2 points involved. I hope I explained this in a manner that people can understand.

Good explanation of a bad situation. Glad you caught it. This is one of my fears of the online reservations that people are hoping for. Just a one night ressie can be so complicated..

I thought online reservations would work but then I called the other day to make a res for SSR and couldnt because there was an inventory problem and they were taking none until it got resolved. If member services cant figure it out how now how will it work if you add in online ressies?
