The last day of my honeymoon we have ADRs for Rose & Crown around Illuminations time.

Would you keep those or upgrade to a signature?

What are the chances of getting a table with a great view of Illuminations at R&C?

All the signatures have openings except for CA Grill and Le Cellier on that evening.

We are on DxDP and will have enough credits for a signature.

We are already dining at every signature on the DxDP except for Yachtsman and Flying Fish.

Thanks in advance!

First, congratulations and best wishes. I hope you have a very happy honeymoon.

Second, I think that a signature restaurant is a great way to conclude your vacation. The Flying Fish Café is wonderful, even if the atmosphere isn't the most romantic. I've never done a dining plan so I don't know what exactly they cover, but I know that Flying Fish does a sweetheart dinner for two that might be a nice way to treat yourselves. If you don't mind paying out of pocket instead of using your dining credits, Todd English's bluezoo is fantastic and only a short walk from Epcot.

You're not guaranteed an Illuminations view, so if that is a big part of why you booked R&C in the first place, there's really no way to gauge the odds that you will get one on any particular night. Depends on your ADR time, how busy the restaurant is, how long occupants of the view tables are willing to cling to them to see the show, and whether or not they'll let you request at the podium to wait until one becomes available. They generally won't.

If it's going to ruin your evening to not sit on the patio, you should probably look into a signature.

this package, offered at signature restaurants, is not included in the dining plan. It is also a fixed menu (not the full restaurant menu) and shared dessert, so unless you really want the stuff they give you (I think you get champagne glasses or something) it really isn't a good deal. There have been reports recently of guests being unable to book this package, and rumors that it may have been discontinued.

How close to Illuminations is your ADR?

If you want to be seated on the Patio you may have to wait awhile for a table so if your ADR time is too close to Illuminations you may not be seated in time. That being said we ate at Rose and Crown on our last trip and have reservations for the last night of our upcomming trip and LOVE it there! We were seated inside last time and finished dinner about 45 minutes before the start of Illuminations, so we took a stroll around WS and came back at the start and they allowed us to go out onto the patio. It was very nice.

We also have had wonderful dinners at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. It has a more grown-up feel than some other restaurants in Disney. I'm sure you could have a great meal there and then walk over to watch Illuminations if you wanted to, either from inside WS or from the bridge near the Boardwalk.

Congrats! Have a great honeymoon!!
