to the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) but not as a patient! I have been blessed and landed several interview's with several Big Doc's, Professor's etc. for my book. I shall explore so much with these wonderful Physician's. I hope to get so much info to bring back to share with so many Diabetic's and those awaiting transplantion.

I told myself that I never ever would go back there,as the pure hell is still fresh in my mind of my deadly illness. With that this will be one of emotions' as I've decided to go back and visit the room that I laid in for months. Knowing me I shall shed a tear inside! I will do this with Respect and Dignity, I shall visit the fountain inside this massive hospital and toss a few coins in and make another wish!

I'm going back with full force! Diabetes took so much from me! Watch what I take back from it! Watch me give it back to all of you diabetic's! I am living my dream! I have to be honest and tell all of you something, it feels so damn good to the right thing in life.

Thank all of you for following my story and giving me the hope, encouragement and inspiration to be the person that I am today!

Congrats on the trip back up this way.... (ok east of me)

I've read some of your posts here and there but are you a type 1 diabetic?

Is your research in type 1 or 2?

Has any of your research included looking into the duodenal switch as a cure for diabetes? (currently being used for treatment of diabetes in Europe)

In the US this surgery is more sought after as a weight loss surgery but is a total cure for diabetes in most cases.
