Hi guys,

I'm Kayleigh...20 years old and from England. I've just finished my A-Levels at college and should hopefully be going to University in September to study a LL.B (Bachelor or Law).

I used to be a healthy 9 and 1/2 stone, but then I became lumbered with an injury that has turned into a disability, and through not being able to dance or exercise properly, I put on four stone in around the same amount of years :(

I started losing weight in October, starting at 13st 9lbs...I managed to drop to 12st 6lbs by Christmas, but then things got hectic with exams and college work, and I somehow fell off the bandwagon. I managed to get down to 12st 2lbs, but since then have slowly been putting weight back on...I'm not back up to 13st almost :worried:

I've been saying for, weeks really, that I'll restart my diet, but I eat when I'm stressed, and I've been very stressed lately, so I haven't gotten round to doing it.

BUT my exams finished on Friday, so I've kicked my **** into gear and have started my diet once again. I decided to the moment I got up this morning.

I'm doing it WW style, but without attending meetings...I can't fit them in.

So far, I've eaten breakfast - something I never normally do! I had a sausage, rasher of bacon, mushrooms and plum tomatoes. I don't eat cereal, as I have IBS, and have to avoid wheat etc. The breakfast was perfect...I would normally have snacked by now, but three hours later, I'm still going strong! I'll probably have some soup for lunch...but no idea what I'm going to have for dinner yet..I best get thinking!

Anyway, I would love some comments and support - advice or whatever! It would be really appreciated, since I'm not going to meetings :)

Well...here we are....here's my goal! I'm just under 5ft 6ins, so I've got a fair bit to lose.

Start weight: 13st
Goal: 9st
Loss target: 4st

Before I was 'big'...I was around 10.5st. Taken July 05.

We are around the same weight but at the age of 41 (42 next week :() i will be happy to drop to around 11 & half stone.
I hit 13 stone & went to the Dr's who have put me on a good eating plan & i have to report back every 2 weeks (keeps me on task! & free unlike WW or slimming world)
Which Uni are you going to? My neice is hoping for Nottingham Trent.
good luck with the WW plan,
remember one day at a time :)

And you don't live too far away! I live in Lincolnshire, so hi neighbour!

.

I should hopefully be going to Derby, my second choice is Nottingham Law School (at Nottingham Trent). I only need 60 points (a D) from one of my A Levels, as I've already got 240 from A Levels I did before so *crosses fingers*

Happy birthday for next week! :wizard:

I weighed myself last night, as I had forgotten to do it the night before....13st 2.5lbs! I was mortified...no wonder my trousers are all feeling a little tight. I had not long eaten though, so I did it when I first got up this morning, just to check....12st 13lbs. Phew! Still not good, but better.

I hit 13 stone & went to the Dr's who have put me on a good eating plan & i have to report back every 2 weeks (keeps me on task! & free unlike WW or slimming world)

I've tried everything....'healthy eating', the GI diet, the Atkins diet...while they all worked to *some* extent, I stayed on them for all of...oooh....a week? At least with WW I managed to do more than 12 weeks...so I think it works for me, I just have to stay motivated...which I find hard to do. :worried: Good luck with your diet!

Yesterday went well. I stuck to my points, but then my blooming fiance broke out a packet of crispy thingys and I can never resist though...so I took a couple of points from future days this week.

Only managing to drink 4 of the 8 glasses of water so far :( It helps if I put no added sugar juice in them though...seem to drink more, for the same amount of points.

Hopefully today will go just as well as yesterday...

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to say, I've got 12 weeks before I should be going to university, and I'm hoping to lose 2lbs a week, so hopefully I can lose 24lbs by then...*fingers crossed* That would take me to 11st 4lbs...thats my 'mini goal' for now

Kayleigh

ahhh wouldnt the world be great if we could all have will power ;)
Its such a hurdle!!!
Your mini goal sounds very 'doable' hang in there & take one day at a time :)
My WI is tomorrow morning & i will be gutted if the scale hasnt gone down as i think i've done pretty good....wish me luck!!

Good luck!

I'm currently :furious: with myself, as I've fallen off the bandwagon - twice - in two days...with a chinese AND fish and chips :( I've tipped the scales up to 13st 3lbs  so tomorrow I'm sticking to it with a vengance....completely determined this time. I thought I was before...but being only 6 lbs less than my first start weight has kicked my into gear completely..I hope.

I would have stuck to my points, even with the takeaway, but I've lost my eating out book so I've got no clue as to points for that... Will have to get a new one...and a new journal ::yes::

Keeping motivated is the hardest thing for me!

Hi, Kayleigh. Welcome to the WISH journals!

I think motivation is the hardest thing for all of us - it's so easy to get off track. I am an emotional eater, also, and I fight against that all the time. You will find lots of support here and good suggestions from people who have been down this road successfully. I think you will be glad you decided to journal here!

And I'm not sure how your measurements translate to U.S. pounds, but I have to say that you are beautiful in your pictures! I'm sure you will be able to meet your goals - just keep plugging away at it.

Have a good weekend!

Susan
