There is a cure for a lot of this.....it's not a quick cure.....it will take years to fully realize, but there is a cure.

I am a lesbian. I largely focus on the greater good of my country and my state when I vote. Yes, I have personal issues that I would like to see taken care of that are usually ignored because I tend to try to do the right thing for my country and my state. So, with a heavy heart, I apologize for voting for Bush and mostly Republicans most all of my voting life. I feel like I have let down my fellow man on this one. I am part of the problem because I bought into the idea that things would be better controlled under Republican leadership.
At this point in my life, I have become very upset with my government on a national, state, and local level. I was not even this upset after 9/11, but dangit, the focus of our country has got to change. We have to work on issues at home for a while. We need to stop trying to save the world and save ourselves. I can no longer listen to the war rhetoric and feel that we need to be there. I can no longer listen to the reasons why I should not be allowed to be legally joined with the woman that I have been in love with for the last 6 years because it will harm marriage as it currently exists. I can not tolerate the old boy network anymore. For a all the talk of this being a "Christian" based society, I can not for the life of me see where the real Christians are in my government. I guess maybe I have been brought up with a different Bible in my home and my church. I can't understand how we have homeless people everyday in this country. I can not understand how the big oil and energy companies for years have been allowed to buy the rights to more eco-friendly and non oil based energy sources for our home and cars and just squash the ideas....not put them to use....because it would stop them from doing what they know how to do and what makes them big money. Why the heck are we still buying foreign oil? Why are we so bent on outsourcing our jobs to other lands? Why can't I call for customer support and get anyone in America to talk to anymore? Why are there so few things still made in America?
Dear Lord, if we ever sealed the borders and the ports, we would be screwed. There are not enough farmers growing food here to support us anymore. There would not be enough parts to fix even half the industrial machines, computers, or cars in this country. We have got to make some changes in this country and quick. I fear for my country. America may well be getting a wake up call from God. We must change our leadership, our focus, and our lives if we hope to continue living as a free society in this country. I love my country, but it's time to make a whole lot of changes.
I apologize if this post offends anyone, but I am just so stinkin' frustrated right now, I just have to let some of it out. Aren't you lucky to have been here for it?!? lol Maggie
