With as bungled as the investigation has been, it would not surprise me if someone close to the investigation leaked the "secret" details about the body.

I imagine he'll now get sent back to California where other unrelated charges are pending. To put in bluntly, the guy is a pervert. Just not the pervert they are looking for in this particular case.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't he only admit to being with Jonbenet when she died and not to actually killing her? So technically he could still be telling the truth and there could be someone else involved? Just speculating, this case has always been such a mess I'll be shocked if they ever solve it.

Why on earth would he confess to JonBenet's killing>

A number of reasons:

His 15 minutes of fame.
To get a free trip home.
Because he's sick, and wants someone to stop him before he does kill a child.
He is so obsessed with the case, he now really thinks he did do it.

You can't begin to try to understand someone that is that sick. I do hope he goes to jail though. He is not right, and shouldn't be left out to do sick things to children.

I believe that HE BELIEVES he did do it. But I don't think he did do it.

That is what many are speculating, that wanted to be extradicted to the US to escape Thailand.

Supposedly, he went to Thailand to get a sex change. I guess it's cheap there.

While he was there, he was arrested for some type of child sex crime.

no you are not wrong.

However, I find the family's position that he was with them on that Christmas day to be quite believable.

My impression of the man is that he is a very twisted individual who obsesses over that little girl and her death. I believe that in his own way he does "love" her like he says that he does.

I think that he either actually does believe he was present at her death, or just wishes the world to believe he was present.

I think there were two sites of the DNA. One was a drop of some kind of body fluid on her underpants (not semen) that was not contaminated. The other was DNA from under her fingernails which was contaminated by a dirty scalpal during the autopsy.
