Karmel Shuttle Feedback

so I have looking at the new schedule for the Disneyland express and the new times really don't work with our flights for either arriving or departing at LAX so I was considering using a shuttle service for this trip.

Have not used the shuttle service when taking out little one since I know that you need a car seat and we haven't wanted to fly with our car seat when going to Disneyland but not wanting to waste time shuttle service seems to be the way for us to do it this trip.

Has anyone used Karmel shuttles before? From what I have read they do not make as many stops or circles of the airport like SuperShuttle
Any reviews of their service would be appreciated!

I have used Karmel twice. Last time I did was in late 2012. If memory serves you can use them with a dedicated ride just for you or a shared ride. As the number of people in the group grows the dedicated ride becomes cheaper or at least comparable.

They have a good reputation on this forum. I have found them to be reliable.

Ok.......

What's nice about Karmel Shuttle is that it operates off of reservations. No waiting to fill up the van, no looping the airport, no traveling around the country side.
I cannot personally speak of travel with them from LAX. I have traveled with them from SNA r/t so far twice.
Most recently this past March and the trip went just as well as the first one for me. Once you collect your luggage, then call them to let them know you are ready. Then you go to meet them. If they are not already there waiting for you, they will be within a few minutes. I found the entire process very easy, fast, efficient and no hassle at all. The van was waiting just for me on a couple of trips. And on my other trips there was only one other passenger. So it was like having a private or semi private ride.

If you've read about them not circling the airport, you've likely read that in reviews people have already ridden! I like them and have posted positively about that several times just in the last few weeks. I've used them, SS, and the Express coach, and have had far more positive experiences with Karmel than the others.

I had a good experience with them. The driver even found a music station in spanish for us. The music was awful, but hey, he made the effort

We had a horrible experience with them. When we landed at SNA we called them and proceeded to the shuttle area. We were told our van number and the wait was about 15 minutes. 30 minutes later no van so we called. The dispatch was super rude and said wait 15 more minutes. Still no van. By the 3rd call dispatch couldn't tell us when a van would arrive to pick us up. So we cancelled and asked for a refund since we had waited almost 2 hours with no van ride. They charged me anyway. We end up using yellow cab and they were the same price as the shuttle and were very nice.

We used them back in 2011 and we loved them. We used them from LAX to DL and then from DL to the cruise terminal. They were on time and friendly. No complaints here, I would use them again in a heart beat.

I used them this past January and found them to be reliable, clean and no problem with either pickup or drop off.

We used Karmel in October, after DRE raised its rates significantly and cut service from LAX back to hourly only. We had a great R/T experience. They don't circle the airport or resort area at all because they only pick up advance reservations. Our trip from LAX to DLR took 40 minutes door to door--we were the only party in the shared van. The trip back to LAX took an hour after we picked up a second party. That beats the best times I've ever experienced on DRE. We paid $90 for the round trip for a party of two, and we would definitely use them again.

We have Karmel shuttles booked in October for our transport fom LAX To HoJo's after arriving from Australia.......what do we do about car seats for our 2 and 5 year olds? Does anyone know if the shuttle service can supply them if we tell them in advance?? Thanks in advance

Trying to book online with the code referenced above but it doesn't change the price:

$52 each way (from LAX) for 2 adults and 1 child

$104 round trip

anyone know why the code isn't giving any addtional discount?

I haven't been able to find any shuttle service that provides car seats -- we have been to DL 5 times with our 4 year old.
You either have to use the DL express bus or hire private car service -- private car service might not take you either without car seats

they are telling me the promo code doesn't apply when going to DL resort hotels since their rate of $52 round trip is already discounted??

after being put on hold several times and her checking and double checking I was able to get the $8 discount

so our trip from LAX to DL resort hotel and then from DL resort hotel back to LAX is $88 ($44 each way for 2 adults and 1 child)

That is a very good rate for three people from LAX to Anaheim. Without the promo discount, the total would have been $65.90 for the same size party. Even from SNA, a cab would be $45.00 one way to the Anaheim area, and that distance of course is much shorter and without the LA area traffic.

I hope it does not take an hour to pick us up at LAX -- email they sent says 5-30 min depending on airport, traffic, etc -- fingers crossed I'd like not to wait an hour with a 4 year old
