Day five--Sunday, December 15, 2002
We started the day by stopping at City Hall to see if we could exchange our tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which was pretty much rained out on Thursday, to tonight. We heard that other people were able to exchange their tickets, so we figured we would give it a try, and we were successful.

We had breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table. We had a great table right by the window overlooking Fantasyland. We mentioned that it was Joe's birthday on Saturday, and Carolyn's birthday on Monday, so they brought them cupcakes and everyone sang happy birthday to them. When we told Snow White it was Joe's birthday, she asked if she could give him whe she gives Dopey for his birthday. Joe said, "Yes," and was excited until Snow White kissed his forehead, leaving a lipstick print. He was upset, but Carolyn and I got a kick out of it. The food at Cinderella's Royal Table was OK, but nothing special. The only thing I really liked was the breakfast potatoes.

After breakfast, we started to tour the Magic Kingdom. We made our way to Splash Mountain, and rode on it three times (only twice for Carolyn) without getting out of the log. The third time around, we got stuck on the ride for 10 minutes. When we got off the ride, Joe and I met Gus, the prospector over at Thunder Mountain. He was really funny, and gave Joe a "very rare" snowflake diamond.

Carolyn and Joe decided to take a break to go swimming. I decided to stay because I really wanted to see the afternoon parade. I was looking forward to seeing the snowglobes. So, I scouted out my favorite spot for the parade about 45 minutes early, and waited for the parade to start. I reallly enjoyed the parade, although I thought it was a bit on the short side.

I then took the monorail over to the Grand Floridian to check out the Christmas decorations. The gingerbread house was amazing. I took some pictures of the gingerbread house, and everyone back home is just amazed by the size of the thing. I have one shot of it without any people around it so when people look at my pictures, they think it's tiny until they turn the page and see the next shot and see people standing next to it.

I then met Carolyn and Joe at the Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Very Merry (and not Rainy) Christmas Party. I ran into a compule of women from Georgia who had these great dwart hats. The one with a Dopey hat didn't want to wear it. I asked her to put it on, and I'd film them so they could be part of my vacation memory, so she did. They probably thought I was nuts, but I loved the hats, and they were good sports about it.

We went to sit at my favorite spot to wait for the Christmas Parade shortly after arriving at the party. Since the parade got rained out on Thursday, we wanted to make sure we had a great spot for the parade tonight. Carolyn and I took turns taking Joe on rides while we waited for the parade. The parade was awesome. I love all of the floats, especially Santa Goofy. The parade was a lot longer than I expected.

It was very cold that night, so Carolyn and Joe went back to the hotel shortly after the parade. I stayed to watch the parade, and tape the Jump 5 concert for my niece, as they are her favorite band. She would never have forgiven me if I didn't tape it for them. They did a holiday concert, and it was actually quite enjoyable. I actually sat through their set twice. Catie has a pretty good auntie.

Glad to hear you were able to exchange your tickets for the MVMCP - another fun filled day - thanks for posting!
