Day 8Saturday, December 11, 2004
I woke up a little bit later than usual this morning. I guess all of those late nights and early mornings finally caught up with me. This was the final day of my trip, and it sure was a fun and busy week.
I decided to take my time getting ready, and just have a relaxing morning. I had some cereal in the room for breakfast. I knew that KathyTX and her mom would be leaving that morning, so I called up to their room to say goodbye. Travellin Tigger stopped by my room, and we wound up going up to KathyTXs room to say goodbye to her and her mom. We wound up staying up there for a half hour, looking at Kathys pictures from the trip, and sharing memories of what a great time we had all week. I thanked Kathy and Nancy for putting up with me all week, and said goodbye and hugged them, thankful for knowing people as great as Kathy and Nancy.
I then finished packing my stuff and asked bell services to come get it. I then headed over to Epcot. I ran into Old Kicker at the International Gateway, and we walked around Epcot together for a while. We were thinking of going on Spaceship Earth, but the line was very long (as is usually the case in the morning), so we walked around the Future World until the World Showcase opened.
I said goodbye to Old Kicker in France, and walked around the World Showcase, catching a couple of the holiday storytellers. I then headed back to France for lunch. I had a priority seating at Chefs du France. While I was waiting to check in, NativeTxn and two of her friends (I just cant remember their names) showed up at the restaurantthey also had a priority seating, so they invited me to join them. Although I enjoyed my meal, I enjoyed the company at lunch a lot more. I was using a lunch voucher, so I started off with a salad, followed by hangar steak in peppercorn sauce, and crème brulee for dessert. The hangar steak was good, but a bit bland. The crème brulee was excellent.
After lunch, we all walked over to the Swan for the Mega Mouse Meet. I was a bit disappointed in the Mega Mouse Meet this year. The room was a lot smaller than they had last year, and there werent nearly as many DIS folks there this year as there was last year. The room was pretty packed. I felt that the Mega Mouse Meet was a waste of time this year.
After the Mega Mouse Meet, I ran over to the Boardwalk to do some shopping. I was hoping to pick up some Boardwalk Villas merchandise now that Im a member, but I wasnt thrilled with the selection, so I changed my mind.
It was then time to head back to the Swan to catch a FL Tours town car to MCO. My driver Sonny was waiting for me when I got to the door. He whisked me to MCO to catch my JetBlue flight back home to Boston.
When I got on the plane, I wound up sitting in the same row as the family I was next to on the flight down. It was nice to be able to hear a bit about their trip, and see how much fun their kids back.
I arrived home at 9:00 that night, another fun week at Disney behind me, knowing that I had my first trip home to the Boardwalk scheduled for May.
