Anyone used the online service for their kids?My dd is in 3rd grade and could use some extra practice with her reading comprehension and word problems in math and I was thinking about trying Kaplan but don't want to waste 30 dollars if it is not good or they don't offer alot.Any experiance with them?

I've never used them, but I've used a site called Time4Learning. It's got a wide variety of content (reading, math, science, social studies, etc.). I believe they offer a 2 week trial and it's about $20/month.

Back to Kaplan, I looked at the website and was a bit disappointed that I actually have to start a trial in order to get a feel for what the program is like. I'm also interested in the reward zone as a way to motivate my kids, but again, I can't really see what's involved.

I'd be interested in seeing more...I'd just rather not have to use my credit card first. My son finishes with his math tutor on Saturday and I'd like to come up with something to replace it with.

My daughter used Kaplan for her Sat prep course (in-class though) and it worked wonderful for her. She increased her scores by an acceptable amount in my mind. I know your daughter is younger, but it is the way they teach the kids (not the grade they are in) that made a difference for my DD. She took another course through her school (and a different approach) prior and it did not help at all. She also uses all the Kaplan resource books since her teachers let them choose...

If they have a 7 day trial, I would do it. Make sure your child is healthy that week though..

I would like to know if I start this program, does Kaplankids.com have time limits on the programs? I am thinking of getting him on the Math program but I did not see on the site anything about time constraints per day or week if any.
My other questions is he is a 4th grader who will be going to 5th grade next September. Will the assessment determine what grade level to enroll him in or do I indicate he is a 4th grader as he did not pass Math?

I know lots of questions...

Thank you!
