We are planning on flying from KC to Orlando in early May.

I've been watching fares on South West because I was
sure they would be going down more.

However, that didn't work.

I've seen them go from around 176 to 191 to now 218 rt.

Do you think they will go down lower than the current 218?
(SOON)

Does anyone ever notice SW's trends in pricing?

What days other than Tuesday do they release new specials?

Try airtran. You may have to stop in Atlanta, but my sister got some great prices on that route.

I've been watching SWA from Norfolk to Orlando too. We're going in April. The fare just went up to $157 this week - up $10 from last week. Hopefully, there will be a break soon. Anyone have a SWA discount code?

I'd probably go ahead and buy them at $218. The lowest price I've seen in a while is $176. Southwest has non-stop flights to Orlanda from KC and I haven't been able to find anyone else who does. We bought our tickets for March several months ago and they were close to $300 each, but I was willing to pay that since we like non-stop. Fortunately, the price has dropped several times and so we were able to re-book our same flight at the discounted rate. We can't get our money refunded, but we have money in our "SW account" to use in a future flight. BTW, anytime you make a stop when flying, an additional airport fee is figured into the cost. Flying non-stop can actually be cheaper!

I just booked a KC-Orlando flight for our June trip, and $176 RT was what we paid.

Even with the hassles of no assigned seats, I'll gladly fly SWA for that nonstop flight. I have changed planes in Atlanta enough for one lifetime!

Do keep an eye on the flights after you book. Sometimes seats/rates on SWA open up when you least expect it. If I'd been paying attention last December, I probably could have avoided a 3-hour layover in Nashville coming home from our Tangerine Bowl trip.

We travel in May to WDW quite frequently.
It seems that as the dates get as close as they are now SW really doesn't continue to monkey around with their rates...It seems that they post the lowest fares right away and those sell and then the remaining seats get progressively higher. I would not expect them to get any lower than 175.00. Unfortunately those seats are probably gone and you should get in now while the fares are still close.
And I agree that a non-stop flight is well worth some extra bucks, especially with some little ones!!
Good luck!

Oh and by the way "Go Royals!!!"
