Cast of Characters:
Jana (moi, 40, obsessive planner of this and all trips..think Chevy Chase in the Vacation movies.)
Eric (DH, 41, a big kid at heart, pretty much goes with the flow and can have a good time anywhere as long as theres good food.)
Anna Marie (4 year-old DD and true princess any princess...pick one.)
We live 2 and a half hours from Pittsburgh and since thats the closest major airport, we like to drive up the night before. We usually spend the night at a Hampton Inn where we can leave our car for the duration of our trip. We love Hampton Inns. They have free breakfast, complimentary shuttle service to the airport, and I have yet to stay in one anywhere that doesnt meet my standards of efficiency and cleanliness. Theyre nice. Plus we get points when we stay there. So after work (about 5:00p) we gather our already packed bags and head north to the great city of three rivers. We stop in Morgantown, WV, to grab dinner at Burger King. It is here that DD complains about her stomach hurting again. I must interject here that she was just getting over a 24 hr. stomach virus and both DH and I were a little concerned that it wasnt quite out of her system, or that one or both of us would come down with it on our trip. Ive heard more than once the horror stories of the stomach bug at WDW I did not want to contribute to that forum. Whether it was her unsettled stomach or just excitement, I dont know but she didnt eat much. We packed up the rest of her meal and went on our way. We arrived early evening and settled in our double/double NS room. DD was hungry by now (a good sign) so DH took her to Wendys across the street. We tucked in early - ready for a big day tomorrow.
