Kajeet nightmare

Anyone have any experience with Kajeet...cause I am about to loos my mind...

8/2 ordered my daughter a phone (pd over $100 for it)
8/6 delivered... screen came broken and only 1/2 the keyboard lit up... called customer service ...told me that the they would be sending me shipping labels to ship back...
8/10 recieved labels and shipped back defective phone...
8/13 kajeet recieved back defective phone...

for the past 14 days I have been calling Kajeet cause they still have not shipped me my replacement phone.... keep being told it should be shipping the "next day".... have left voicemail with ' toya"who is incharge of returns and she has never called back..... yesterdays reps said they would call me back..... and didn't .... today rep said they would be calling me back ....????

I pd with my credit card ... should i call my credit card company and refute the charge....????? its been 14 days of the telling me they phone will be shipped.... and nothing


and I can't even go into the issues I am having with net10 for the past 10 days.....because I litterly feel like banging my head against the wall.... and flushing my cell down the toilet......
 
Kajeet customer service is super frustrating. We've had the service for almost a year & only continue it because it's the cheapest option for us right now.

DS13's phone broke a few months ago. It was under a 1-year warranty so I called & they said to ship it back with tracking, then they'd credit my account for the cost of the phone. In the meantime we ordered him a new phone which did ship & was up & running within 3 days. Well after a week I called Kajeet & they kept saying they had no record of getting the broken phone back. I gave them the tracking numbers I had (which clearly stated it was delivered to Kajeet a few days prior) but they kept claiming when they typed the same numbers in, they saw nothing. We went back & forth on this for 2 more weeks until I finally got a supervisor & held his hand while I wakled him through exactly which keys to press to see the same tracking info that I saw. Surprise surprise, the supervisor magically saw what reps had been denying for almost 3 weeks. Like you, I was about to bang my head against the wall! I had even taken screen shots of the tracking info & emailed them to Kajeet (& got no reply at all).

It did take another 2 weeks for them to credit my account, but it did get straightened out. What a headache it was though!

I did have another custmer service issue with them that was handled immediately. We're on a monthly payment plan, so on the 9th of each month the plan renews & DS13 gets 100 phone minutes. Well on the 9th of March he started making some calls around 9am, and I noticed we were being charged 35 cents per call. I called & they claimed that they just hadn't renewed our account that day yet, and they removed the charges. So don't assume auto plans renew at 12:01am! It never happened after that again.

I had a similiar experience; we've gone through two phones, and "Toya" (whom I believe to be a ficticious person) never returned calls. I'm still debating keeping the phone.

What I like about their service:
1) GPS tracking. While me teen is normally where he says he'll be, I like the security of knowing.
2) Endless texting for free
3) Just enough minutes to stay in touch
4) About 1/2 or more the price of other individual cell plans
 
DD has had kajeet since Christmas, and the only issue i ever had was the first month, they billed our service twice. i got two separate e-mails on different days, so i checked my CC statement online and sure enough, we'd been billed twice. i called kajeet, and they fixed it immediately (took a few days to come off my statement-not unusual). everything has gone smoothly since then. i hope your situation is resolved soon, OP, how frustrating.
 

never recieved the call Back today either............. they have also mentioned the 'missing' trackin number for the return numerous times... and I've had read it off my confirmation to them almost everytime!!!!!!!!!!
I'm calling tomorrow and if it hasn't shipped.... I'm going to tell them to credit the phone.... and forget it...
this is my first ever experience with this company... and its really scared me off...I don't know if I trust them having my credit card into to pay for the monthly plan...
 
I had a (somewhat) similar problem with TracFone years ago. Filled out an online complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and it was resolved within four hours. It took about an hour to determine which BBB office to file the complaint with (chose Tracfone's city of operations); I am amazed what some companies will try to get away with.
 
What I like about their service:

These are the same reasons we are keeping it for DS13. For $20 a month we couldn't add him to my plan, it was at least double that. I also LOVE the parental controls - with just a few clicks I can turn the phone on & off - this has come in handy many times when chores aren't done - well then your phone goes off til they are.
 
calling Kajeet again this morning... if its not shipped... I'm going to ask for a refund credit .....and be done with this company.....

uggh.... its 9:10 eastern standard time.... and I call Kajeet.... and keep getting a recording stating to please call back at a normal business hours 9am EST to 3pm......... I am

Just got off the phone with customer service AGAIN...and was just told I would be getting a call back with in the hour... confirming my refund..... keeping fingers crosses....

Just wanted to update... that Net 10 solved my issues beautifully... and i have recieved 2 calls from net10 corporate today to make sure that everything was resolved....... still waiting to hear back from kajeet........

we'll they didn't call with in the hour.... figures!!!!!! Can't call back now... don't have another hour to waste at this moment.... try them later... if they don't resolve by next phone call... I will just call my credit card company and dispute the charge... since Kajeet has my returned phone for 17 days now.. and has not shipped a replacement or has issued a credit.........
 
well I'm done dealing with kajeet... they have never returned a call.... after being told numerous times they would.... they have had my returned phone for 24 days.. no refund..... so I just got off the phone with my credit card company to dispute the charge....
 
OP, even though kajeet has been good to us, we found out we could rearrange our home phone/wireless/internet and save $10 vs. what we're paying with kajeet + our current phone/wireless/internet, we're going to put DD on our AT&T plan. we're waiting on the phone to arrive so we can activate it and cancel kajeet.
 
DD14 had Kajeet for a while, I had many issues with billing so eventually I just let the account go. I added both of my girls to our plan for $10 per month, we have Friends and Family, unlimited text (which is necessary for a 14 year old lol) and 1400 minutes per month. Each added line is only $10, this is with Verizon, you may want to check into it. I pay less now for DD14's phone then I did for her Kajeet phone.
 
Yep this about sums up when I first bought my son a phone from them only it took 2 months to get it to me in the first place and didn't make it in time for the holidays. Sounds like you have about a month and a half to go to break that record. lol

I have had a couple billing issues as well so keep and eye on the account and don't put a large amount into the wallets because I have heard rumor that if you stop service they will never refund money in the wallets. It did take me over a month to get a refund they owed me when they misbilled as well.

This is just one company that you have to have patience with or find another service not that any cell phone company has good customer service nowadays anyway.

sorry to hear you had such issues with them! but we have enjoyed the service and not being tied to any contracts! We always order our new phones via http://www.kajeet.com/bargain for the 15% savings which is good! Have another one needing to get a phone here in a few months...maybe a Christmas gift! :)

Sorry to hear you gave up the fight. My sons first phone was the one that took forever to get. When I returned it because it wouldn't charge it took about 2 weeks to get the replacement. I did have to get a supervisor on the phone and kept in touch with that person.

i have spoken to the "supervisor" on numerous times... was told by supervisor he would return my call withing "3hours" " by end of day" within 24 hrs" etc etc etc and never got a return call....
I don't think i should need to fight to get a working cell phone or refund..... two weeks would have been fine..... its almost going on double that....
